CPAP Furniture

Hi!
New CPAP user here and am now sleeping thru the night. I write to ask if anyone has come up with some good ideas of CPAP machine placement in the bedroom, instead of just placing it on the nighstand. My aim is to have it readily accessible but easily put away out of sight during the day. What I've done at the moment is to put a large wicker basket next to the bed, placed a couple of folded blankets inside and then a phone book ontop as a platform to place the machine on. The blankets and phone book are so the machine doesn't sit near the floor of the basket. During the day I just put the hose inside and cover the basket with its cover.

My only remaining concern is possible dust or other particles from the blankets going into my breathing.

Anyone else have any similar, bedroom-tidying ideas they've used?

My nightstand is more of an end table. It's got 2 shelves, so the lamp, alarm clock, tissues, etc. are on the table top surface. The power strip and CPAP machine are on the shelf underneath. I just hang the mask and chinstrap from the bedpost during the day. Keeps everything mostly out of sight, but very readily accessible. I don't care so much about hiding it because it's not a secret from my family, and I don't really invite visitors to my bedroom.

I went to walmart and bought a plastic cabinet on wheels..has 3 drawers for all my stuff and can be wheeled into the closet during the day. Cost was under $20. Its so portable, I just wheel it out to my motorhome when I am heading out.

Just a reminder: If a new or custom wood night stand is used,
make sure all odor is gone from glues and finishes before using.
Even traces of these chemicals can be very bad to breathe.

I have mine setup in a little cabinet with wheels. I already have a desk next to my bed, and no room on that desk. So this allows it to be next to the bed, but I can move it if I need to.



I keep the mask, filters, etc in the top drawer. Larger supplies and travel bag in the bottom drawer. All drawers are closed during the day, and the middle drawer is open at night. The air is pretty clean since there isn't much dust or anything getting in there, so my filters last a lot longer than my mom's filters (same machine, setup in the living room, no cabinet).

My main concern was that my cat my get sick on it during the day. She has a tendency to go up high and provide maximum splatter. At night, I can at least hear the warm up noise and move her in time. She hasn't gotten sick on it all, though she has managed to turn it off twice. Not a big deal since I was all the way asleep and just turned it back on. She's VERY helpful

Do you mean formaldehyde in plywood? But it's NOT from dry glue!

Don't forget space for a Battery supply in the cases of power stoppages!

The urea resin glue that's used to make particleboard that is commonly used in inexpensive furniture outgasses formaldehyde long after the pressed wood/particleboard is made. In tightly sealed homes the level can become a health concern. Best to avoid particleboard and all pressed wood products or purchase furniture that is certified to be formaldehyde-free.
