Hose manager system Grrrrr...

Post by base2balls » Sat Oct 27, 2012 10:31 am

I ordered one of them hose holder things and it came damaged. It can be fix by welding it. The bottom was not welded on very good at all. I took it out of the package and the bottom popped right off of the rest of the thing. It is cheaply made but it can be fixed. The storage pouch did not come with it so I'm going to send it back. Hey! I came up with another idea for a hose boss thing and I can travel with it too. I found one of those big metal paper clips and clipped it to the center of the headboard and then took two wide rubber bands and put them on the litttle handles of the paper clip and them threaded the hose through the rubber bands and voila! I got the best sleep I have had in ages! Isn't it amazing what we do to get a good nights sleep and what we have to do to be comfortable wtih our machines? Every one have a great day and hope those in the path of the storms will be fine. Huggies. Fay

You are so right Fay...we can be very ingenious when needed ..I just screwed a six inch plant hanger to my headboard and instead of hanging plants over my head...theres a hose perfectly situated .

I have a garden stake attached to my bed at home. I'm here at Mom's as she needs some one here to help out as she is disabled and such so I have my machine here. I don't want to ruin the headboard on the bed here so the big paper clip idea is working out well for now. Huggies. Fay

At my brother's house, the bed was right under a window; (no headboard at all)
so clothes pins and scrunchies did the job, along with my sister-in-law's curtains.

here is my cheapo hose management system. I have maybe $10 into it. One wooden dowel, two small pulleys, three 5/8 flat washers, and some string. It really works well.

yup, Climateline with Swift Fx mask. You can adjust the height be adding more string. My FIL drove for Roadway for many years.

I just got the F&P heated hose with my new ICON and they said I could not add hose to mine either - but I did. I just added the same way I always have, used a connector and added another hose --- but added hose is NOT heated. I use a hose snuggie on my 'non heated' hose and have had no rainout.

Also, just FYI, why does everyone hang their hoses? I am showing my ignorance here, but I've been on CPAP since 2000 and no one ever suggested to me to hang my hose. I do have 2 - 6' hoses, one 6' is just too short for me. Also, I was never able to put hose over my head, had to use with hose going down from my face, for some reason I wake up freaked out if hose is above my head. This happened early on, and still happens if I lose control of my hose during the night. Dr wasn't sure why, but I was on a ventilator when I was younger for several weeks, so I think some memory from then might be why - not sure.

I like the hose hanging from above so I dont roll on it or get it around my neck. I assume it also helps with rainout some.
