I got a hose hanger because I was getting some major leaks that seemed to be due to the hose pulling on my nasal pillows when I turned over. That does not happen to me with a hose hanger. No more major leaks, and my AHI went down a bit.

Hi Jen.

I think the reason folks hang their hose is because of the weight. With the hose laying to the side, one is more prone to sleeping on the side of where the hose is located. Sometime, when you move to the other side, you may be more prone to having leaks on the opposite side of where the xpap is located. This will give you "options" as to which side to lay on.

Great hose management product, inexpensive, easy to install with Command hook, solved leak problems.

Not everyone does. I don't. Don't like it over my head. Tried it and it was annoying.
It's a personal preference.

I think this thread is very timely. For the last day or two, I've been thinking about hose management for myself for the sake of allowing my body to turn to the left or right without getting pulled. If you wouldn't mind, those of you that are posting to this thread, would you mind taking a picture and posting it? Then those of us who are contemplating hose management can visually see how others are doing it. Tentatively, I'm thinking doing what NanWillson did. Tomorrow, I was going to contact Cpap.com to order one, not anymore.

I 100% prefer the hose cominig in from the top versus the side. I am sure this will differ for everyone. But if you have never tried it before give it a try.

I don't know how to post pics on the net...dumb old lady . But all i did was go to the dollar store, bought a plant hanger that goes on the wall, about 4 - 6 inches long, and screwed it to my headboard. I can roll from side to side easily as the hose runs up over the headboard out to the hanger and along the hanger to the edge ...and just hangs from there to my face. A word of caution...do place the hanger at the top of the headboard...any lower and you will crack you noggin on it . All that for only a dollar.
Cheers
Nan

I debated with myself for quite awhile about the hose management and finally bought the HoseBuddy from cpap.com. You can easily turn from side to side or wherever and they is absolutely no problem. I'm so glad I finally decided to get one.

I took a plant hanger & mount'd on the wall above my bed.I have no headboard..So that was what I did..I got the hanger that swing's.That way when I'm done I just swing it out of the way.

NanWilson and Kenneth P.: How high from the mattress do you have your hangers?

Interesting pictures y-alls. I also like to clip part of my hose to the pillowcase so it won't fall to the floor. I might see if I can fix the one I bought or get it ready to send back, but the big paper clip is working fine for now. I too don't like the hose laying on my neck and under me and such so I would rather hang it to get it out of the way. When I get home I will snap a picture of the garden stake that is attached to my bed there and I'll snap one of the big paper clip here, but gotta find my camera first. Well I hear Mom getting up so I best get crackin' HAve a great day and stay safe in the storms and such. I hear Canada had a big earthquake last night. We didn't feel any thing and we are just across the water from where the quake hit. Have a great day, Huggies, Fay

If you ordered it from cpap.com and it was broke just give them a call and I'm sure they'll replace it. Do you have a web site to show which one you ordered.

You can also make one similar to this yourself. Get 2 GBC BadgeMates Translucent Carabiner Badge Reels or brand of your choice. 2 Velcro cable ties and I use 2 command hooks as I have better luck with them at 2 different points for attachment to the wall or headboard then attached to one hook. Took about 5 minutes to assemble and is portable with the command hooks it won't cause any damage.

Using the same Velcro cable ties and the same type of clip above but instead of the retractable reel and replaced with a clip you can use them to anchor your hose to the bed without being retractable.

Mine is about 2.5 ft from mattress..Mine work's very well..I leave it where it will swing..I sleep on my side&I do switch from side to side alot..This has kept me from wrapping up in it.I just play'd with it till I got it right..I just took some velcro to fasten hose to hanger. You really have to play with it till you get it like you want.

I found it on sale at the Walter Drake site and I was floored that it was so cheaply made. I should have ordered from cpap.com or pursleep or some where that sells cpap supplies. I just sodered the base on and maybe it will work out for me. If not then I'll fasten it to the headboard with ties or a couple of C clamps.. Have a great day, Huggies, Fay... I paid under $10.00 for mine.
