Ok - I'm game! - I just ordered a tube of it and we'll see how it goes. I guess the only thing I have to lose is the nosepiece.
Of course, I may look funny going into town with the nosepiece attached to my face but surely people will understand.
I'll let you all know how I make out and whether or not I get arrested.

The manufacturer's web site doesn't give a full ingredient list. It's probably safe, but check the ingredient list on the tube. If you post the ingredient list on this forum, there are a lot of forum members with knowledge about what is safe.
This human practice of "not bottle feeding" is called BREASTFEEDING.I know several mothers that don't bottle feed that were provided this by their health care provider. For those of you who haven't encountered Bag Balm it's kinda like Vaseline but is manufactured in New England and was supposedly made originally for a balm for cows after milking. My experience is that it will cure anything (and now I can add leaks to nasal pillows!)
Bag Balm is made for animals. There is a similar product made for humans, safe for nursing babies. The brand I know is Lansinoh, and it is available in drugstores and WalMarts in the baby department. Look for breastfeeding supplies like pumps and pads, and you will find this stuff. The package looks like this:
<Sorry, I couldn't get the link to work. Search for lansinoh and you can find it at several online suppliers.>
I am allergic to wool, but this lanolin is ultra purified, and it doesn't bother me. Many mothers keep this stuff around long after their breastfeeding days, since it is great for treating many minor injuries and rashes.

Good for you, Moogy........I did that too.(breastfed).and handed out a goodly share of counciling myself.....funny how some folks still like to 'beat around the bush' about such a natural function.....However, the balm is great stuff......no longer where there's livestock, so now all I keep around is a can of Watkin's carbolic salve.....NOT to be used for this application, though......petroleum based. Nose-wise it's Secaris or K-Y gel. Gidgie.
