no humid air flow
no humid air flow
i have a problem with my icon cpap machine. the humidifier plate is warm, the air is blowing, but after a few seconds of use the air drys out. any idea what the problem could be?
Re: no humid air flow
Is the humidifier using water??? If it is, you are getting moist air.

I was wondering the same thing last night. For some reason I just didn't feel the humidity. Kept turning the humidifier up. I think it has something to do with the fit, but not sure. The machine is definitely using water.

Please sign up for an ID and fill in the equipment on your profile. There's a link below on how to do this.
The first few seconds of air will probably be more humid than the rest even if everything is right. Airflow speeds up and there's probably humid air collected above the water and in the hose.
If the water is warm and there are no leaks, there's basically no way for the humidification to fail. It may not be as humid as you want, but the physics sort of can't fail.
Disconnect the hose from your mask, plug up the end of the air hose with your thumb and listen for air leaks.
If you have mouth leaks or leaks around the edge of your mask, that can leak out enough air to end up dehydrated.
