I think this advice is meant either for people who are untreated or people who can't tolerate a high enough pressure to stop the apneas. With the right pressure there is no reason not to sleep on your back if that's what you find comfortable.Julie wrote:Hi - it almost sounds as if you think you should be sleeping on your back - and that's the worst position for inducing more apneas... they might have asked you to do it at the sleep study, but that would have been to get a worst case scenario on file... otherwise you should do whatever you can to sleep any other way.

Re: Ticked Off
A heated hose will warm the air, and for me it warms it noticeably. I use the humidifier on one or zero (passover mode). There is a HUGE difference in the temperature of the air when I have my Aussie heated hose plugged in and when I don't, regardless of how my humidifier is set. Occasionally I have not plugged it in and have awakened in the middle of the night with a freezing nose! I plug the hose in and that takes care of the freezing nose. I bought the heated hose to heat the air, not for rainout, and it's been perfect for that problem for me. (Having the humidifier turned on, regardless of how high, doesn't noticeably change the air temp for me; only the Aussie heated hose does that.)
I hope you're able to get the machine you need, one way or the other. Doctors can be a pain sometimes.

Re: Ticked Off
The heated hose does not seem to make much difference, except when I take it off in the morning.
In winter, when the bedroom air is cold, the ambient chilliness is noticeable, but only for a few seconds.
