Encore Pro phantom data?

Post by Carl LaFong » Sun Sep 18, 2011 8:34 pm

Downloaded data from my card tonight into Encore to look at the last couple days. When I look at the Therapy Data screen it shows an entry for today (Sunday) that's highlighted red and usage time for the day of 29 minutes with some really bad numbers in the report. I didn't use the machine today nor sleep at all during the day. Do I somehow blame my dog?

SleepyHead detects no data for today.

Has anyone else found a similar anomaly with Encore?

Which Encore software?
Pro 2.4? What is the time zone set to? Even with DST active it is till off by one hour till fall back time.
Is it possible this 29 minutes was on last nights SleepyHead?

If time zone is incorrect and Pro thinks that 29 minutes belongs with today's data instead of last night it will show red because less than 4 hours.

Encore 2.4.12.2

Gumby, I know what you're hinting at. I shut the machine off 10 hours before I pulled the card.

Pugsy, DST shouldn't matter per above.

No big deal. Just wondering if anyone experienced this. I know how software can sometimes "break".

When no other explanation... Aliens..

Red means less than 4 hours of use during the reporting time period. Machine is set at factory to GMT.
Pro default time zone is GMT. Pro time is off by one hour due to DST.
How it came to report for 29 minutes ...??? Aliens or the dog but the data doesn't come out of nowhere.

Since I don't believe in aliens I will "interview" the dog tomorrow. LOL!

Apples and Oranges, Encore Pro has the ability to assign the time your day starts, at least it did in ver 1.8i. Data is being shifted via the way the program is set. Jim

Apparently you don't. You portrayed that you knew all about Encore (and the machines) back then.

Hardly. My statements were based on my experience with my machine, the machines of others, and what I was told by professionals. If your mileage varies, please post it. I am by no means the last word.

SleepyHead's default mode is to split days at midday.. like Encore & ResScan do..

In preferences there are a few settings that let you tweak that.. There top slider is particularly useful for people who sleep odd hours/shift workers..

You have to exit and reopen the program for changes to have an effect..

Mark, thanks so much for responding.

I "hooked up" and took a nap today from 10:30am to noon (bad night before). SleepyHead appended that data to the previous night but Encore made a new day entry for the current day. I haven't tweaked settings on either software product. Using defauts.

Still, no valid data for Sunday on either product. I've noticed large data gaps from the machine from several past nights as if the machine were turned off but I know it wasn't. Could be a machine malfunction?

Technology? Could be a user error too.
