Remstar Pro 2 with C-Flex and Encore Pro software

Post by Dale92 » Sat Feb 18, 2006 8:15 pm

I have a Remstar Pro 2 with C-Flex and I have been searching through past posts on the Encore Pro software. I am interested in purchasing the software and card reader here at Cpap.com but I am a little confused. Looking over some of the posts it appears to me that if I use the software I will get detailed data regarding how I did for about 6 or 7 nights. I did not tell my DME or my Sleep doctor about my plans but I did ask them what kind of information they can get off my card reader. They both told me they can only get compliance data off my Remstar Pro 2. They said that it does not supply any detailed information like snore rates or AHI.

I guess my question is this: Can I get detailed data that will be helpful to me or would it be useless for me since I do not have an Autopap? If you have the same Remstar CPAP unit and the software I would appreciate some feedback!

Thank you

Dale

Dale92,

The answer to your question is: ABSOLUTELY!

Whoever told you that the Pro 2 doesn't provide detailed information is a little behind the curve (read that "clueless").

There are quite a few of use here that use that machine. I've been very happy with mine. It's doing a good job for me.

Best wishes,

Den

Den, thanks for the quick reply! I don't understand why the DME or the doctor would not know about other data besides compliance data? If you don't mind my asking, what kind of data could I get using the Encore pro software with my Remstar Pro 2? I realize without an Autopap the pressure would always be at a level 10, what else might I learn with the software?

Dale

Dale,

Please use the following link to read the review that Derek did on Encore Pro.
By using Derek's MyEncore software with the Encore Pro, the combination provides an excellent way of monitoring your therapy from night to night and to be able to view your long-term progress.

You can get details like apneas, hypopneas, snore events, and leaks.

Save yourself some money and order the card from 2factors.com and download the software for free from Respironics website. You should also get MyEncore.

Do a search for "myencore and 2factors and encorepro" and you will find a great deal of information on how to order, install, and use these tools.

I have the Remstar Pro 2 with Encore Pro installed

Jerry69 also does and he can get the same kind of reports as I can. I am picking on him because he posts some-

http://cpaptalk.com/viewtopic.php?t=6908

He also has posted a lot of his myencore outputs in a thread

http://cpaptalk.com/viewtopic.php?t=6234

So yes you can get output - I get stuff like what Jerry69 posts

Dale,

I was late seeing your post, but as Guest noted, I've gotten lots of details off the Smart Card from my REMstar Pro II with C-flex. Here is a Daily Details report from Encore Pro (free download). http://jerrylester.com/posting/Daily%20 ... 8-2006.pdf

I do one of these every morning and annotate it with the yellow flags that will display Adobe Reader, when you put your cursor on them. You won't be able to create a PDF document like this unless you have a a full version of Adobe Acrobat. That's NOT to say you won't be able to get the details from Encore Pro, only that you won't be able to create a PDF document like I have. But, you can use a free print screen program to capture the reports and publish on this forum. You will need a web host to do that, however. That's another story. The freeware print screen program I use is available at http://www.Gadwin.com. Very handy little app.

MyEncore is also free software, as has been noted, and I use that to see trends of AHI's, etc.

Jerry
