SD Card question

Post by Mannydog » Sat Aug 27, 2011 10:38 am

When I scroll trough my info screens, it says my SD card has 100% free space.
After three nights, I would assume some data should be on there.
I do have a modem for the first 30 days. Does that keep data from going to the card?

Not ready to do anything \with the data yet, just want to make sure its working correctly.
Diagnosed with severe SA, and started CPAP 8-24-11.

I don't think 3 days is registering much space yet. You can try SleepyHead to see it but I am sure it is recording.

As a frame of reference-- My SD card has a total space of 3.72 GB. After collecting data for several months on that card, I have used 20.8 MB, and have 3.72 GB of free space. With that in mind, a couple nights of data will use only a tiny drop in the bucket of free space and thus would not register as even 1% of the card being full. That's my guess, anyway.

I downloaded Sleepyhead today. It seemed to work fine, except that The most recent data saved to my card is from 5 days ago. It doesn't have anything later than Spet 6th, and in Sleepyhead, it shows through Sept 5 (which would include the data from the night of the 5th/morning of the 6th).

Any ideas on what's going on?

For what its worth, I did travel by air for three days/two nights starting later on Sept 6th.

The machine seems to be working OK otherwise.

Put the card back in the machine. Look for it to say it is "Writing Data to Card" or something like that. Wait until it finishes then remove the card and try it again.

Another question about the data card - my DME told me nothing about it when I got my machine other than I had to mail it to them in two months so they could report compliance to the insurance company. But they did not give me a replacement card for when I do that. Can I used any commercial SD card when I return this one to them? I'd like to keep the data that is on this card, so I am thinking about taking it to them instead of mailing it and telling them to download the data and give it back to me. I'm sure they are going to be mad as hell that I have been downloading reports myself.

My replacement SD card was in an envelope that was included with the paperwork.

If you are downloading the information to your computer you really don't need to save it anywhere else when you send in the card.

As far as them being angry, simple, don't tell them.

Yeah, it's none of their business what you do with it. DME is only complying with the insurance request so they can get paid and the only thing insurance is nosey about is hours used and that's nobody's business either if you ask me. You can use a regular old SD card in your machine during the time you send yours off.

1) If they're mad, the only proper response is a stream of obscenity.

2) There's no reason they would know. Unless you screw up, the machine and the SD card are completely unchanged by you downloading your data from the SD card.

3) Create a directory on your PC. Call it S9Data or some such. Under this directory, create a directory named for today's date, such as 20110911. Copy the data from the SD card to this directory on your PC. Now all your data is saved. You can use the data stored on your PC with SleepyHead even without the SD card plugged into your computer. You can PROBABLY copy the data from this directory to another SD card and it will work in your S9 machine.

I believe that when you put your SD card into your computer and look in the Computer folder, you will see the SD card. Open it and you'll see a folder called "datalog". Copy this file into the S9Data\20110911 directory you just created.

Repeat the process with a new 2011**** directory every time you want to backup your data.

The only thing not to do is to accidentally erase the data on your SD card by doing a "move" instead of copy or making some other dumb mistake.

I think "datalog" is the name of the directory on an S9 machine, but I don't have an S9 myself. Can an S9 owner someone correct me?

I haven't looked at the datalog folder you are referring to. Each time I put the SD card in my computer and download the data, it is saved in the Rescan software. I don't save it in any other location in my computer.

Yeah, I know how to save the data on my computer. I looked in the folder they gave me to return it, but there was not a new one. But, I have pa couple of SD cards.

Will they require future reports or is this just a one-time deal?

As soon as I've given them the first report, I am changing suppliers. When my doctor ordered the oxygen last week, it was from someone different (APRIA) and I really like them and am so fed up with ALL SAINTS I can't wait to get away from them.

I was told by my DME that the compliance thing was one time 3 months after the delivery of the machine. For me, this is when the insurance company stops renting and decides whether to purchase.

I put it back in the machine yesterday afternoon, then back in my computer, and somehow got one more day (Mon/Tue), but was still missing the most recent 3 days.
Today I checked it out in my computer and I got last night's data, but still have a 3 day gap.
Think they're gone forever?

Lots of people really dislike Apria as well.

I don't know how changing supplies in the middle of the rental is going to work in terms of the insurance paying for the machine.
