resmed m plus series exhale pressure

Post by dwilken » Wed May 18, 2011 3:07 pm

folks. things were fine for a while. now feels like i have to push to exhale. i know i should go back "in". but that's not an option. lost job & insurance. i found the posts for getting into the clinicians mode, but i am still unsure what setting i'm looking for. once again, the inhale is fine, the exhale is hard. my pressure is 8. any help will be greatly appreciated. i'm a little over whelmed and frustrated-dave

Do you have cflex on your machine? That will give you some exhale relief, it has 3 settings to choose from, 1 being the least and 3 the most relief. Your machine is not data-capable so you can't see what's happening.

Check the above link as it has direct download for the M series Plus machine's clinician manual which should list your options and how to get to them. If it has CFlex that will be the exhale relief. You would just need to try each setting to see which is more comfortable.

Forgive me if I missed this info somewhere, but which machine do you have?

If you have a Respironics machine with 3 buttons on top that glow a blue light, see that one is for the Flex function. Pushing the Flex button moves through 3 available settings. If you accidentally push this button during the night you may change to another Flex number.

1 = least exhalation relief
2 = medium exhalation relief
3 = maximum exhalation relief

I keep mine on 3.

The "push" to exhale that you feel... is that feeling happening the most as you are nearing the end of breathing out each time?
