And why has Johnny or someone else tuned in on this problem?
Do they even monitor postings anymore?

Fascinating. That must have taken hours. I wonder if mine got deleted too.

It is SUNDAY today. This board is our playpen but they don't WORK weekends. Do you work 24/7?

I can live without it.
Didn't even know about it for several months.

I'm holding out hope for a glitch type event being responsible, cause I don't want to feel all I'll feel if and when it's evidenced an individual did it.

This is So Strange I would bet there is a technical answer and not an individual who had the motivation, time, or energy to undertake this project. But, when betting on the behavior of one human individual, things get risky.

BTW, South Park had an episode which is a great spoof of what extremes anonymous people will go to on line.
South Park: Make Love, Not Warcraft
Original Air Date: 10.04.2006
There's trouble in the online gaming world when a mad gamer won't play by the rules. The boys dedicate their lives to defeating the renegade and saving the World of Warcraft.
You can see it at http://www.southparkstudios.com/full-ep ... t-warcraft

But I do warn you that South Park is not for everyone!

I'll attempt to file it under "technical glitch" regardless of whether it happened in the realms of the board's hardware, software, or wetware.

That's a fascinating response, Jaylee.

My beginning post to the thread I started, "Looking for a single man in his 30's or 40's for my friend..." for you was deleted. And now at times in that thread, you appear to be talking to yourself. But otherwise your posts appear to be intact.

Someone either spent a great deal of time, or someone is knowledgeable enough about programming to be able to expedite the process.

A little less risky when you have information about past similar behavior. Remember that the first post of my "Can I start my own thread?" was deleted and restored. My money is on it being the same person. But it's possible that I have more than one secret admirer.

I will be very curious to find out what is found when your posts are restored. They should be able to find out exactly what happened to them. If the person that removed your post from before had his "spam" privileges revoked, what is stopping that person from logging on under another name and doing it again?

Perhaps the spam feature should be changed so that, instead of a post being immediately removed, it is instead flagged for the "system operators" of the board to review and make a decision as to whether they should be deleted.

I'm guessing the problem started when a new member or guest member was sending you replies that were kind of weird and suggestive?

This is most unusual.

When I click on your name I go to your profile. It says that you have 2940+ posts. When I view your posts, I get to page 169 of your 197 pages and everything looks fine. However, pages 170 - 197 are blank.

The earliest date on page 169 is March 11, 2010.

A rough calculation indicates that a little over 2500 of your posts are still there, but that doesn't explain what happen to the others.

The optimistic side of me things there is a glitch and that is why the cut off is at a specific date and the missing posts are not sporadic. I am hoping for an optimistic resolution. The pessimistic side of this is ugly, and I want to explore the optimistic side before going there.

Until we have more information, all we can do is offer moral support. This sucks - big time.

I've got it...

Were you using xPAP treatment in March of 2010?

If the answer is yes, then you should have been totally rested, and all you need to do is recall the 500 earlier posts and re-post them...

geez, S.U. Im so sorry this happened to you!

of all the people, so helpful, so giving of your time.. so methodical.. your threads are a gold mine for anyone
who has been having similar difficulties..

Its hard to believe that a person would take the time to do this to you, its hurtful!

I dont know how it could be a glitch though..

I hope that all the posts which you spent so much time on are all restored.. as they were a gift to anyone
who read here, and should remain.. Thank you for writing them.

Has the delete spam button every been used in such a destructive way before? I agree, maybe its time that
only a few have access to that, or this could turn into a regular occurence and defeat the purpose of the board.

elena

No, there are blank pages intermixed with pages that are there.

However... I don't know if I'm just get really tired and losing it, but it seems like there are more there than there were before. Go Carolyn!!

I hope Carolyn will tell us what the answer to this is. Closure is nice.
