Yes, some of them I do consider the enemy. I usually fire the ones I consider the enemy. See man, this is all about nothing but money. Nothing else. I am absolutely amazed when I read posts or hear people offline talk about how wonderful their physician is or how much their physician cares about them. I want to spew up.

All your doctor wants from you, is your money. Period. Endeth of story. The trick is finding a doctor who will actually do some work in return for your money. Some of them dont even want to do any work, they just want your money and give you the "office runaround." Check your BP, pulse, temp and then come in shake your hand and briefly talk to you for ten at most fifteen minutes.
There is part of your problem. A lot of the physician's have gotten into this line of work because they DO care about people. And they DO care about their patients. And yes, My GP, My Sleep Doc, and my wife's Fertility Doc do care about us. About our well being, about whats going on in our lives, and how our treatment is going.

And yes, their nurse does the BP, pulse, temp work up. And we only get 10-15 mins with the Doctor. Which is time to ask the questions, and get moving in the direction we need to go. If we require more time we get it. However, if we don't. Well there offices are very busy and there are a lot of other people just like me that they need to see, get treatet. What my Doctor does not have time for is for me to argue about every little thing, or debate their findings and method of treatment. And if you are anything in real life like you come accross on these boads. I suspect you do just that. And no, it's not that they just want to take you money with little to no effort. They just don't have the time for your nonsense. There are plenty of other patients that need help who will listen with them and work with them to better their own treatment. Who are not just there to be a pain in the backside.

Your treatment might be going better if you took a diffrent viewpoint of your Doctors and what they are trying to do for you. However as I suspect you won't. I don't suspect you will get anything resolved in the near future.

Walk into a doctor's office and tell them you are broke with no money and no job. And you are super sick. Then fall down on the floor. See if they bother to help you beside calling 911. Nuff said.

Its about MONEY, BABY! Nothing else, nothing more. I am absolutely amazed at the number of people who truly believe there are doctors who go into medicine primarily to "help people." LOL That is the funniest thing Ive heard in a long time.

They go into it, especially into the specialist areas, to make $200,000 a year with benefits.

But that is the way you want it! Personal responsibility! No compassion, no "welfare" , What are you bitching about? You should be proud of them - they are living your dream life! You are getting the treatment you want and expect! You must be in heaven right now!

Ya,
You are right McDover. I keep hoping he is just some who is strained, and maybe we might get through to him. But more and more it feels like he is just mesing with us. You give good advice which I will try my best to follow.

Thanks,
-Jordy

The doctors I respect the most are the ones who have gone off and formed their own practice, oftentimes solo practice or maybe two or three doctor practice. And they do not take any form of health insurance only cash, out of pocket. And have signs in their office warning you that your insurance may not cover many needed tests. I used an Internal medicine doctor who was like that for a while, at least the guy was honest about it. He got fed up dealing with the insurance thing. It does not work, especially with managed care insurance.

I do respect total honesty and if a doctor has gone off and decides to only take cash out of pocket patients, it means they are probably more honest. It IS a business, afterall! We all gotta die sometime, maybe a bad doctor who takes your insurance money and laughs at you behind your back as you leave his office can speed up the process!

Eric, I have to agree with Jordy and hope you'll understand his viewpoint. I worked in medical offices for many years and I can tell you that we always had a flag system set up for patients with your seeming attitude so that it would be "difficult" for the receptionist to find a time slot for you during a heavily booked day, or if the RN had more time than the Dr, she might try to answer some of your questions on the phone, unlikely, or direct you to a specialist in another field of expertise based on your questions and his/her concerns. In rare cases when a patient became too disruptive and distracting to the Dr and staff and careful records were being kept of these instances, we would send a registered letter,RRR, to the patient detailing the lack of cooperation and asking where he/she would like their records sent within 30 days. Until then, the Dr would be obligated and available to treat any medical emergency requiring his/her care. Most physicians are dedicated, hardworking professionals who have chosen this field to help the sick and suffering, knowing the pitfalls and sacrifice of grueling years of schooling with loans that will be with them for many years and sometimes forever, long days and nights in the hospital, disturbed sleep, extrodinary responsiblity and a tremendous amount of time filled with paperwork and huge overhead as well as required continuing education. Yes, the specialty of sleep medicine does need some attention and overhaul, but in general, I respect and admire most physicians for the work they do. I know personally of the many lives they've saved and the pain they've eased. I know I'm wasting my time and probably just fulfilling your need to be here, but I tried. Who knows?!

Dori, Ive never had a doctor send me a letter like that. I keep my personal opinions mostly to myself IRL. You are stupid. You sound like another medical person who maybe has a list of patients you messed up worse and shoveled it under the rug,to be honest. I never have time finding time slots with doctors. You are talking about something you dont know anything about and are assuming things.

You are pro-doctor and I am not. Ive had several almost kill me in the past, another almost killed my Mother one time and she is like you...pro-doctor.

Eric
