The NEW (2011) PR System One
The NEW (2011) PR System One
Hello everyone.
I'm trying to track down some info about the newer improved PR System One machines. Sometime around fall 2010 Respironics released a new version of the PR System One that has a backlit screen, better noise control, a mask fit feature, different tubing settings and who knows what else.
Apparently its up to firmware 2.XX now as well.
Anyway, I guess I'm trying to figure out a few things: All of the new features/improvements, and what the best method is to get a new one.
Some of the newer features are hilighted here: http://respironicssleeptherapysystems.r ... tions.aspx
I know at least one person here has the newer machine with the light. Anyone else have success getting one?
I'm also specifically curious to know if cpap.com is stocking the newer ones or if they have some sort of big supply of old ones they are still clearing out before they start sending out the newer ones.

Re: The NEW (2011) PR System One
How do you tell if its the new version? My System was Manufactured 11/19/2010.
Re: The NEW (2011) PR System One
Thats the kind of information I'm trying to dig out with this thread. I thought I read somewhere that the logo is above the screen in the white area on the newer ones instead of down below the screen on the dark plastic.eastbay wrote:How do you tell if its the new version? Out of curiosity, when you plug in your machine, what firmware does it show when the screen first appears?
Also, does your screen light up so you can read it at night? Thats the biggest giveaway.
Re: The NEW (2011) PR System One
I have the new System One. I'd be happy to answer any specific questions that you have. I received it from my local DME and I've been using it for almost 2 months. I'm pretty sure my firmware is 2.01. The screen is definitely backlit. I can check the date of manufacture if you'd like.

Thats fantastic. Thanks for responding. Yeah, I would love to know the manufacture date if you dont mind looking it up for us.AEC wrote:I have the new System One. Can you confirm that the Phillips Respironics logo is above the screen on your unit? I guess I'm sort of looking for ways to easily tell that its the new updated one just by looking at it.
Here is a picture of the older ones. Is there anything different you can easily point out between this and yours?

Re: The NEW (2011) PR System One
Here is a link to the System One brochure from the Respironics website:
http://respironicssleeptherapysystems.r ... ochure.pdf
On the third page, there is a picture of the unit that looks like mine. The Philips Respironics logo is just above the screen on the white portion of the unit. Just below the screen are the words "REMstar Auto A-Flex". There is nothing printed on the grey part of the unit. The words "System One" are on the humidifier along the right side of the top.
The sticker on the bottom says "REMstar Auto REF 550P". Below this, there is a barcode and the serial number of the unit. Below the serial number are the following:
REV 01 2.XX 20101230
I'm guessing that the manufacture date is Dec. 30, 2010. I just checked and the firmware is V2.01.
Please let me know if I can answer any other questions.

My DME really tried to push me toward the PR Sys One. It's one of the noisiest ones out there and expensive to boot. I opted for the Intellipap Auto Adjust. My DME had to "order" it but it was worth the wait. I'm happy without the PR System One.

Hi Larry
Does the Intellipap has some kind of rain-out control? I'm very concerned with it because I had a lot of rain-out in my Headrest while using the S8 autoset.
How do you do to get your data? Do you need to buy the kit with a cable, etc announced at cpap.com as SmartLink Therapy Tracking Software?
This information is for a friend of mine who travels a lot and was diagnosed with OSA recently.
Thanks
Blakepro
I will receive in a couple of weeks a PR System One I ordered last December (it has been at friends house waiting for me to go get it but finally it will come by mail), I'll let you know if this one is different to the one I get on April 2010.

Re: The NEW (2011) PR System One
I have one that is almost identical to AEC's, only the last digits below the serial number are "20110202." I received the machine on 2/17, so a 2/2 manufacture date is possible (although it seems a little implausible).AEC wrote:Here is a link to the System One brochure from the Respironics website:

Re: The NEW (2011) PR System One
Hi,
I purchased a Pr1 BiPAP Auto from CPAPAuction.com (not exactly CPAP.com but they own the site) It was manufactured in early 2010 and had a problem with the internal clock. It provided therapy ok but bad clock means no useful data recorded. But I digress
I had it send in for repair and Respironics just sent be back a brand new BiPAP Auto Ver 750P with a date code of 20110207 (So, I think it is really new. The software is Ver 2.01) .
It is back lit, has mask fit feature, lets you choose if you have a 22 or 15 mm hose, you can switch the language between English and Spanish, you can choose five levels of heated humidity with room temperature monitoring (or set it for the "Classis" five levels of humidity) it lets you demo various levels of Flex, but you still cannot "Set the clock" You can choose straight CPAP (with c-flex), Bi-Level or Auto-BiLevel.
The big thing is that it is really quiet! I've used five different Bi-PAP Auto/VPAPs and I've never had one that was so quiet! I'm use to the up and down noise from inhaling and exhaling on a Bi-Level but I cannot hear this PAP at 15CM H2O? My spouse has commented on the lack of noise! There is no comparison to the noise of the unit from Early 2010 (much louder then my M-Series. But the 2011 unit is wispier quiet!
My unit Identifies that it is a BiPAP Auto with Biflex below the LCD.

Re: The NEW (2011) PR System One
Mine is also the same as AEC's and Drowsy Dancer's. I am in the middle with a code of 20110107. Got mine on Jan 24th.
Much better than the 5 year-old REMstar Auto that it replaced, very quiet.

Re: The NEW (2011) PR System One
Mines dated 20110104.. ordered in february. Firmware 2.01. from cpap.com. Saved nearly $2000 on the machine buying it from there rather than Australia.
First machine, so I got nothin to compare it too.
It's quiet, but with CFLEX turned up it can get slightly annoying every time I inhale. I usually sleep with the ceiling fan on high so don't notice too much.
I can't turn backlight on while in therapy mode, only works in the menu.
Looks similar to that picture, except for the text layout is all around the LCD screen

Respironics
