Did you re-boot between the uninstall and re-install? If you didn't, the drivers could have still been in memory.

Yes, uninstalled, rebooted, installed, rebooted...still nothing. I give up...I'm going to go buy a cheap USB reader and see if that helps. It it ludicrous that when you select dowload it does not take you to menu where you select your device. That would be too simple.BernieRay wrote:Did you re-boot between the uninstall and re-install? But the price was right

I don't think that you had to uninstall and reinstall. Once the ResScan program is installed then it upgrades itself.360 wrote:Yes, uninstalled, rebooted, installed, rebooted...still nothing. The SD Sony reader that I mentioned above from Staples was selling below $10 just a month ago. I don't know why it rose in price.

Re: Can't get ResScan to see SD Card
You might want to look through the troubleshooting section of the ResScan clinician's guide (towards the back) first. A copy should be in the C:\Program Files\Resmed\Resscan3 folder.
If you can see the card as a drive in Explorer, then the problem is more likely something else. But trying another reader certainly can't hurt.

Card is definitely there, I can see it when I go into "my computer" as a memory card.

Re: Can't get ResScan to see SD Card
Okay. I'm running Windows XP Pro SP3, so let's see if we can figure out what's different.
Is you're card reader a USB device? It probably is, but if it isn't, it's feasible that ResScan can't see it for that reason.
When you installed ResScan, were you logged in with an ID that had administrator rights? I know that some changes within ResScan aren't permanent unless an admin account is in use. Again, I don't know for certain if installing without admin rights could cause a problem, but it, too is feasible.
Do you insert the card and then start ResScan, or the other way around? At first, I had problems seeing the card if I started ResScan first. Since I started inserting the card first, I haven't had a problem.
What is your level of knowledge of the Windows registry, System32 folder, and the prefetch folder? Even though you un-installed the drivers and re-booted, the drivers could still be hanging around somewhere. Mucking around with those areas is a bad idea unless you know what you are doing.
Also, you might want to look at viewtopic.php?f=1&t=60154&p=566044. Although the initial problem was different than your's, some of the suggestions may help. Specifically, I regret that I didn't suggest running CCleaner after you did the un-install.

Re: Can't get ResScan to see SD Card
I'm not that computer savvy to be messing around with that stuff. One can only hope that this post keeps others from downloading those drivers. I guess I'm the only one thus far that thought it sounded like a good idea to install them. Hopefully a USB SD reader will cure this.

On one machine I have dedicated SD reader, on the other it's a reader in a printer that is connected via USB.
Yes on admin rights.
I've tried it eight ways from Sunday as far as with ResScan open, closed, etc...no difference.

If you're referring to something like Photobucket or your web page on your ISP, the short answer is, "You can't."avi123 wrote:(The only problem that I have is how to post here portions of my report without going to a hoster site)

One more item. When I try to open up the SD card on my laptop that has the dedicated reader it says "The disk in drive E is not formatted. Do you want to format it now?"

Re: Can't get ResScan to see SD Card
Before you give up download and install CCleaner and run it. It's free, and good. The company whose church presentation s/w we use recommends it. You can use it to clean up loose orphan crap in your system that could very well be causing your problems. If you can see the SD card in Windows I seriously doubt another USB card reader will help. The built-in reader is USB, isn't it?360 wrote:Yes, uninstalled, rebooted, installed, rebooted...still nothing. I give up...I'm going to go buy a cheap USB reader and see if that helps.

Don't know if the built in reader is USB or not, it's in a laptop labeled SD.MS/Pro.MMC.SM.idamtnboy wrote:Before you give up download and install CCleaner and run it. It's free, and good. One other thing, I stated above about the disk not being formatted in my laptop with the built in SD reader but when I view the SD card in the port on my printer on the other computer it opens up and I see several files in there.

Re: Can't get ResScan to see SD Card
If your laptop isn't very old, it most likely is usb. The fact that it it can't read the card (which the request to format implies) definitely narrows down the problem.
Can the laptop's reader view files on another SD card, maybe from a camera? If not, then there's a problem either with the reader itself or the Windows drivers for it. Or, something like dirt or a crumb may be inside it. Regardless, another card reader would quickly confirm this.

Re: Can't get ResScan to see SD Card
SD card from a camera would NOT work with my ResScan 3.12. The SD card needs to formatted per Resmed. One such card came with my machine . The word Resmed is printed on it. If you don't have such cards I would go to a DME and buy them there.
