If you're using the machine in auto mode, what is range of pressure is it set for -- the minimum pressure setting and the maximum pressure setting?

I believe it is set at it's full range...4cm-20cm. I just looked at data from last night and it was similar to my previous night. I managed to stay off my back for most of the night, so the longest event was only 34 seconds.

I just want to let you know that I just completed my 2nd night of CPAP therapy, and your data viewer has given me a much better understanding of what this sleep apnea is all about. It's much more complex and overwhelming that I thought at first. As I look at the the waveforms I can see that there's a lot going on, but it's the pauses (or events) that I'm beginning to understand a little better. Of course, I get the 7 day average of AHI, but I wanted to know about the duration, as well as clustering, of those events.

I'm very glad it's helpful to you! AHI is an extremely important metric, but I believe (I have no medical training to back this idea up) that sleep apnea is too complex a medical condition to be evaluated by a single number. My intention is that this software will provide for a reasonable price (that is, free!) information necessary to ask more informed questions to your doctor or health care providers.

• Storage of past data reports
• support bookmarking of your personal data page
• Upload of 001 and 002 files
• Data plot shows mode (CPAP/APAP) and pressure setting (or Amin or Amax if APAP).

I think you absolutely on target with your statement that it's important to know more than just the number of events in order to manage our therapy. Since I'm starting with and autopap machine that's set at a pretty wide range (4-18), I would love to know what my presure is at when I'm getting clusters of events up to 52 seconds. It looks like some of your recent program mods should make that a little easier.

Unfortunately, I must be doing something wrong because I could not get any file data into the fields after putting my machine ID in. I could click on the "Add File" button, but of course the fields for 001, 002, and 005 data were empty. I'll look at some of the ealier posts...something about browser compatibility.

Hi, I was having difficulty too, until you mentioned browser compatibility. I switched to using FireFox and I was able to click on add files and the window opened up so I could navigate to the files and upload them.

Hi Teacher and Terri,

I made some updates earlier in the week to correct some problems with Chrome. There still are a couple issues, especially if you try to upload a lot of files all at once. However, if you choose the files three at a time (e.g. a 001, 002, and 005) all from the same set, it should work ok.

I'll work a bit more on it this weekend to fix up some of the remaining issues with Chrome and IE.

I was able to upload the files using FireFox, but (hehehe) I am unable to understand the data! Some poor soul took pity on me and provided me access to the software. I'll be installing the software tonight or sometime this weekend. I want to better understand my readings.

Update: I worked last weekend trying to decode the 002 file and made good progress! I can see the recording of events and their durations. However, each event seems to be denoted by a short codenumber but I can't tell what each of the codes mean unless I can correlate it with known events.

So, I could use your help! If any owners of Encore Viewer would feel comfortable sending me a PDF report of a nightly session along with a link to the corresponding data on the Data Viewer, I think I could match the events up. I understand the report may contain some information about compliance, so please send me the report only if you're entirely comfortable with the idea. I promise not to share it with anyone else except my wife who sometimes helps me with calculations and pattern-finding of the data.

If this works, then pretty soon I will be able to update the web viewer with "real" event data as calculated by the machine.

A new version of the Philips Respironics Systems One Data view (aka "onkor") has been released. Available here: http://www.hoolehan.com/onkor/.

New features include:

• Annotations of most of the "Sleep Therapy Flags" per Encore viewer (missing leaks and snores)
• Events listed and grouped by type for easy navigation
• Plot of pressure changes for those using Apap modes
• Time zone adjustment so you can sync your plots with your local time

And a big thank you to SleepyCPAP who shared several of his datasets and Encore Viewer PDF reports with me. Those were instrumental in decoding the data formats stored on the datacards.

Ack! This looked so darned nice that I went to the page and entered my machine no., which was accepted, but then hit a wall when it asked for that specific file-type. After scratching my head for a second or two I realized that the program is only for users of the PR System One machines. As is apparent below I am using an M-Series so I don’t believe that I have any compatible files to upload.

That's a shame - for me, that is! cpapdork has certainly performed an outstanding service for users of the System One machines. I just regret that I can't use the service. No way to convert or modify the raw data files from the REMstar M-Series machines, is there?

I use to have Encore Pro installed way back when but then when I started using the Vista and Windows 7 OS I had to switch to the EncoreViewer 1.0 software, which is lacking in too many ways to list here.

I recently installed EncorePro 2.4xxx on my Vista 32 bit computer and didn't have any issues that weren't related to the user. I am using M Series Auto. Don't have Windows 7 though. Maybe the newer version will work???
I think that there is even a special 64 bit version.

When my files upload, I get nice wave form pics.

But much of the time my files won't upload. No error message---the computer just sits there and tells me a file is "uploading" for several minutes on end.

And then there seems to be a problem with my time stamps even though the program is picking up my time zone as GMT -5 correctly: It shows my night starting at 22:00, but I don't go to bed until 1:30.

I'm not a doctor, but I think I'd start raising the minimum pressure two cms at a time (to 6, then 8, then 10 ) giving each change at least 3 nights to see if the AHI comes down. I'd leave the maximum pressure where it is at 20.

Of course, if raising the minimum pressure to, say, " 8 " got my AHI down well under "AHI of 5.0" , I wouldn't bother raising the minimum up more...unless I just wanted to keep experimenting with "how low an AHI can I get." But there's no compelling reason to try to get AHI down to zero other than for curiosity's sake.

pugsy, thank you. I now have EncorePro 2.4 but before I install it I was hoping to find out if I have to uninstall EncoreViewer 1 first. Any idea? Naturally if the EncorePro 2.4 installation goes well I shouldn’t need the Viewer software anymore, but... I'm a careful old fart!
