I found a merchant who says they have the non-CCID version of the ACR38 for sale for $40. They refer to it as the "PCSC" version. I've asked them to verify the hardware id, but does this sound like the correct version?
Thanks
.
Re: ResScan won't recognize ACR38U reader
I think its normally abbreviated PC/SC - searching for PC/SC on this forum seems to yield that ResScan will recognize this version of the ACR38 reader.ftw23 wrote:I found a merchant who says they have the non-CCID version of the ACR38 for sale for $40. If it ends up working for you post the merchant's name Sure many others will be interested!

Re: ResScan won't recognize ACR38U reader
Order placed for "PCSC" version; it was closer to $50 with shipping. I'll post an update when it arrives on whether or not it works with with ResScan. If anyone wants the official ResMed version, I found that CpapClinic in Canada has it for $115 (Canadian dollars) and will ship to the US.davecpap wrote:I think its normally abbreviated PC/SC - searching for PC/SC on this forum seems to yield that ResScan will recognize this version of the ACR38 reader.ftw23 wrote:I found a merchant who says they have the non-CCID version of the ACR38 for sale for $40. Re: ResScan won't recognize ACR38U reader
Update - the reader just arrived from Hong Kong and it displays the correct hardware id when I plugged it into my Win7 computer at work. I won't be able to fully test it out until I get home where ResScan is installed, but everything looks good. Here is the merchant information:davecpap wrote:I think its normally abbreviated PC/SC - searching for PC/SC on this forum seems to yield that ResScan will recognize this version of the ACR38 reader.ftw23 wrote:I found a merchant who says they have the non-CCID version of the ACR38 for sale for $40. eBay seller id: szhcct
auction number: 180561745213
***Important - you must tell them that you want the "PCSC" version and not the "CCID" version since they have both in stock.***
The price is $48 shipped, it took 9 days to arrive from Hong Kong via DHL. Very well packaged, not sure if it's "brand new" or not. Came in a white box with an installation/driver CD with a hand-written label on it. The person who returned my email asking about the PC/SC version is Celilne at licuiying@szhcct.com - she might be able to help make sure you receive the correct version.
Any other questions - please let me know. I have no affiliation with this company, I just found this thread after buying the CCID version and being unable to get it working with ResScan.
Re: ResScan won't recognize ACR38U reader
If anyone else needs one, here is an auction that claims PC/SC compatibility - $15 buy it now.

I have no idea if this will actually work or not, I just happened to see the auction.

That's the seller I bought my first one from when I discovered the CCID problem. I emailed to see if he had any PC/SC models available and he never bothered to respond.davecpap wrote:If anyone else needs one, here is an auction that claims PC/SC compatibility - $15 buy it now.

No, the description of the one I bought didn't specify PC/SC or CCID, so can't blame the seller for that...although it would have been nice if he would have offered to swap it out for me or at least responded to my email.davecpap wrote:Lame, the description even says PC/SC You get your money back?ftw23 wrote:That's the seller I bought my first one from when I discovered the CCID problem. I tried the one I bought from Hong Kong last night, worked fine with ResScan 3.12. Now I just need to find some threads that explain what all these numbers mean. I know that my AHI is where it should be (below 5), but the rest of the numbers I'm not sure about. Seems a little alarming that I had so many "mask events" and leaks. I spot checked a couple of days over the last month and only spotted a few apnea events, the longest lasting 14 seconds.
