I got the flu shot last month, I am not sure if it was the 3 in 1 or not but it did include the H1N1. I got the flu shot last year, it was the first time ever getting a flu shot and I only got it because it was offered at my place of employment. This year I got it because my doc said that since I am diabetic I should get one. Funny how much things change in a year.

Last "year" (i.e. including this spring), the NASAL flu squirt used a live but weakened virus. Learned afterward that is is not recommended for people with asthma. Best to get the short in the arm, with the dead virus.

I work in a hospital and will be getting both the H1N1 and the regular. It is very much encouraged at the hospital. By the way they give out icecream cones so why not.

Good reminder for most Rooster! I'll pass, I get cytokine storms from the flu shot making me horribly ill. I'll take my chances using the European Stoss protocol and increase my supplemental D3 to get it up to about 80-90.

I think H1N1 is one of the three strains that are in the regular flu vaccine this year (at least according to http://www.cdc.gov/flu/protect/vaccine/ ... atsnew.htm).

Good point Bons, One's vaccination helps protect others. I also visit a nursing home regularly and would consider it irresponsible if I didn't get an annual flu shot.

I got mine at my Dr office on Monday and it did hurt just a tad when she put in the needle. It did not hurt after that. I can still feel where she put it too, but no pain at all. Huggies, Fay

We used to trek down to Kaiser or CostCo every year for our flu shots and I remember having the worst FLUs of my life a couple of those years.

Now I skip the shot and rely on Vitamin C...I take 20 grams or so every day and at the first sign of a sniffle or sore throat I start taking 5 grams every 30 minutes, as needed.

It will knock out a cold or flu in nothing flat.

Not flu was likely a cytokine storm! Even mild, they can make you very sick.

Muse, In the linked article I do not see vaccinations mentioned as a cause of C-storms. Do you have any references to this?

Will see if I kept any (lost a lotta links in some disk crashes). Do remember I first learned about 'em from Russell Blaylock, retired neurologist. Never could understand why I got so sick following vaccines..given my hyper-reactive immune system, cytokine storms it be.

I had an extreme reaction to the last vaccine I got, which was the DPT (diptheria, pertussis, tetanus). I have no clue what happened, but I could feel something strange coming over me about 15-20 minutes after the vaccine, and I was really "sick" (I put sick in quotes because it was obviously not any kind of active infection) for at least a week. And also, for the next 6 months, I was just not doing well with all my health problems. It took me a long time to climb out of that hole.

I have a lot of health problems though, so I may have immune issues (CFS-like illness) anyways. I have concluded that vaccines are just not right for me. I will probably never get another one, because that reaction I had was so terrifying. My body felt so heavy. It's something you have to experience to believe. This was not the flu shot though, so slightly off-topic. But my point is, I feel for you, to the last poster who described the weird reaction.
Symptoms: severe daytime sleepiness and fatigue/tiredness, oversleeping and hypersomnia, dark circles around eyes, sometimes brain fog.

Last year I got the regular flu shot in September....and was down with a flu in October. It was a miserable 4+ days, I even impulse bought a couple full face masks online with overnight delivery ('cause I didn't like the one I was trialing from DME, and if I hadn't gotten sick...I was going to exchange it). Even with the full face mask, my AHI was around 16 for a couple of days. The H1N1 shot became generally available in December....

I was down with something in early May...was only one miserable day...but the AHI did spike.

This year I got my regular flu shot in September....because I was in the doctor's office getting my regular (bi-weekly) shot. Hopefully, I won't catch any flus this year.

Years ago I had gotten the flu so bad that I was dragged to an ER (I was perfectly willing to just die). I got more regular with flu shots when they became available through work and now that they 100% covered by insurance....

The Dreamer.
