Josie,
Thank you for recognizing my intentions! Maybe I've given up the machine but I can't give up all the friends I've grown to care so much about on this site. I am still, as you can see, sticking around.
Steve,
Thanks, honey!!! We'll still be in touch. As I said, I'm not going anywhere.
Nan,
Good to see you back. Hope you couldn't post because you were too busy having good things happen in your life. Thanks for the good wishes.

Den,
How sweet you are to ask! Thank you. However, this is so not a good day to ask me. Last night was my 30-year high school reunion and I got homa after 3 AM! We had such a blast that a group of about 20 of us decided we couldn't let the night end and ended up at a club till I finally said I was wiped out and left at almost 3.
Today, if I said I was tired, it may be a little understatement. But I have to say, I was hyper and ready to go till about 2:30 AM last night. So that in and of itself is pretty great for me. If it was prior to therapy, I would never have been able have one drink or be awake past 11 PM without yawning literally every two seconds.
So, all in all, I have to say I feel great. Off to get breakfast with my daughter and one of her best friends. You think I feel like cooking this morning? Actually, it's almost noon (yikes).
Thanks again for caring.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I've been going along thinking that this is a permanent condition and I will be on CPAP for the rest of my life. It gives me some hope that maybe this isn't a life sentence for all of us.

They've already said it all, I think, about how happy we are for you and how we don't want you to leave the group. I want to add a special request that, just once in awhile for old time's sake, you hose up and try out a new mask or something. How would we ever get by without your tweaks, raves, suggestions, etc. about masks and other cpap regalia? I never would have tried the "whatever it is called now with nasal seal" nor would I have hung in there with it. So, do you think maybe once in awhile, on obscure holidays or something, you could keep us up with your latest recommendations? Hopefully you won't get invited to a "come as you are" party at the time....

Aw, Beth, your post was adorable! And 99 out of a hundred times, I will be amenable to the suggestions of people I care about if it means I can help them. But this time...LOL! I think spending between $90-130 for masks just to use them once and give reviews, and hosing up when I don't really need it, may be just past that line of which I just can't cross...or won't cross. You are so funny.
I guess if I stick around, those I respond to will just have to accept my suggestions based on what I learned over the past five months, as little as that may be. I'll tell you one thing, though. Sometimes the best advice comes from someone who is on the outside looking in as it's clearer when you're not emotionally attached to a subject. Do you think that applies in this case?
I'm not leaving the site. For now, you guys will just either have to resign yourselves to seeing my mug/posts on the site or quickly passing over them when you do happen to come upon them. I will still be browsing the new thread topics and replying when I can keep the old big mouth shut. It's part of my charm, don't you think (LOL)???
I thank you for the compliment in your post. And I'm always so grateful when someone tells me that what I've written may have helped them. That is like a Christmas gift to me.
I will be talking with you later...

OK, I understand (sniff). But maybe a compromise - you can wrap a pantyhose tights leg around your face periodically just so you don't lose touch with your sordid past and all of us hoseheads from the dark (oooh. I wonder if I can sell that idea for a horror film?)

Hmmm. Your choice. I thought the pantyhose tights leg would be enough of a reminder! I didn't want to overextend the compromise!

Now, if you really were over-extending here, you would have suggested the pantyhose AND a Tegaderm patch, and perhaps my alarm waking me up every two hours to put the icing on the cake.
