Why is that? I would think just hang it over the shower curtain rod?

Bathroom is already a humid mildewy prone place, plus flushing a toilet gets fine dirty water particles airborne. I'm not a germaphobe....heck, I have rarely washed my long tubing.... but introducing the above into a system i use to breathe all night every night doesn;t strike me as good, or actually *cleaning".

My hose carries filtered air, so what exactly do I have to clean out of it? It doesn't smell, and when I run my finger around the inside, I find no residue. What is there to clean? I did soak rinse in vinegar when I first got it to remove any manufacturing reside....

I periodically soak head gear and short tubing in a large stainless steel or glass bowl with a vinegar solution. And air dry NOT in the bathroom.

Dr. Bronner's Unscented Baby soap. I recently switched from Ivory hand soap, and find that it rinses more cleanly, with no residue.

Have been looking for Dr. Bronners unscented (I can't take any scents in the air any longer, since my hospital stay.... and they pumped something into me that smelled like canned pears or peaches... guess what? I gag when I even see the stuff. Must have been lung medicine of some kind. Never did find out but the aftereffects last a year later. Wierd. They kept send me banada and canned pears for desert in hospital and I didn't eat for a month.... lost 50+ pounds.)

Here's the list I gathered online here:

Clearly Natural Unscented Pure and Natural Glycerine Soap. Found in a pump bottle with other hand cleaners in the super market

Method Go Naked Dish Soap - TARGET
Seventh Generation Free & Clear Dish Soap - TARGET
Purex
Ivory unscented
Dr. Bronners (health food store) totally unscented
Ivory Classic Pure liquid Soap - no scent
7th Generation unscented (for handwashing dishes)
Dove Baby Unscented Shampoo - LOBLAWS
vory Liquid Hand Soap. I have a pump by my sink, and a small squeeze bottle for my travel cleaning

I found Method and Seventh Generation at Target and bought a whole case of the stuff.... it works great but it is not disinfectant soap. I don't think any of them are. Just pure detergent. Or soap.

Good luck. I clean my hose and mask every weekend and wipe the 'blech' off every morning with 'blech' wipes. (cheap)

What? Me worry?

Oh, one other thing. If you happen to pick up a stink in the blower? Just put one single drop of aftershave or diluted perfume on the air filter and it will permeate the system totally. Leave it blowing until the smell is gone. Good example? You forgot to wipe the blech. Or someone cleaned something in the house and the smell of the cleanser remains behind. Just one single drop mind you and only on the exterior of the filter media or you are going to have a stinky blower for a week or two. Tried it the other day just for giggles and farts and it worked perfectly. I doubt it would be strong enough to eliminate smoke smell though... just mask it.

I will personally marmalize anyone caught in this house that smokes either inside the house OR outside the house. Period. End of story. It is just plain stupid and I hate stupid especially when one knows categorically that smoking is deadly to your body. Jeez. (Ex smokers are wonderful aren't we?) Doc told me to quit and I walked out of his office and tossed the pack in the garbage and that was it. Fifteen years ago now and I have only just stopped craving a smoke when I have a drink and dinner.

If you or anyone in your home smoke I hope you are getting this mesage loud and clear. Smoking kills and I spent three weeks in Critical Care because of it, after I had stopped smoking 15 years ago. And I watched them wheel the smokers' dead bodies out the door every night. Wise up.

To dry my hose I wipe it with a towel outside and shake the inside water free. I then turn my blower on and hook it all up and let it run for ten minutes. Presto. Dry. A moist, damp hose and mask is a breeding ground for blech blacteria. Bleck can be deadly if not cleaned.

My dad smoked for years and years while I was growing up - my mom didn't let him smoke in the house, though, so I didn't get too much secondhand smoke. I'm happy to say neither my wife nor I smoke, nor have we ever even tried!

My dad quit a couple of years ago, though once in a while he relapses and has a few. But he still does much better now than he did.

I am so glad my wife doesn't smoke - I hate the smell. There's nothing grosser than hugging someone who smells like an ash pile

Let's just say that the typical bathroom is not the cleanest room in the typical house. Microorganism-wise.

I use white vinegar to clean my pillows every week.

I use Control III Disinfectant every few months on the hose and pillows
