ResMed USB Card Reader

Post by lhpangler » Sat Jul 10, 2010 2:16 pm

I have been searching the forums, found articles but most of the websites mentioned no longer sell it.
Does anyone have any update information on where to buy a resmed usb card reader?

thank you

I have also been looking for a ResMed ResScan USB Card Reader but not having any luck.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have the same problem. Are these proprietary? I cannot get the card to fit into any of my readers. A real pain. Can you help me out with some advice on this?

I have a card reader with multiple size slots that came from Best Buy, don't have any problems using it with the resmed card.

The ResMed S8 lineup uses a proprietary card - based on the smart card, but a different form factor.

Does that work with the ResMed 8 card? Can you give us the name or part number for the reader. Thanks!

Does anyone know if this smart card reader will work with S8 data cards?

I use a $3.00 card reader from ebay...works fine. I doubt there's anything "special" about the Resmed reader. I could use the reader in my printer or the one in my monitor for that matter.

You've got an S9, so there isn't as it uses an SD card (like a camera)... the S8's use a smart card (about the size of a credit card)

The SD card and Reader for the S8 is proprietary, and it is becoming very hard to find. The one's available in Australia, from what I've read, cannot be shipping to the US. However, someone posted on here several weeks ago about selling these via his ebay page. He is located in Israel, and one member here bought a reader from this person and was pleased. I posted this info on another thread here:

Then it sounds like you want a Common Access Card reader. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_Access_Card <---URL

A quick search on ebay for "smart card reader" gives this as an example of what's available.

Not a huge investment to see if it does indeed work.

That is a Serial port card and uses a PS2 mouse or keyboard port for power. There is not many new computers that still uses Serial ports anymore. The drivers are old and I do not see it working on a Windows 7 platform or Vista.
