Hi Dori
Try to rest a bit, you will be more able to help if you feel rested. Mike's numbers will go down now that he is at home and things are coming back to more normal.

I will continue praying for a fast recovery of your husband, for peace and strength for you and for a good help (the VN and others).

Dori, So glad to hear that Mike is home. I'm sure he appreciates having you adjust his "girlfriend" on his face, rather than a stranger. I hope his gigantic wound heals rapidly and that you desensitize quickly to the tasks of caring for it.

You two have an admirable relationship that has led me to a divorce attorney. OK, just kidding. Let me know your secret and please don't say something like "Never go to bed angry", because I am too tired to stay up all night.

Dori

Still thinking of you & Mike & trusting all is settling down. It is awful when we get asked to remember
stuff we don't normally do & feeling stressed & anxious before that gets added to the heap.

So sometime, sit down take a few long deep breaths & relax & be pleased you have Mike there with you.

Cheers & smiles

Dori,

I am praying that Mike has a speedy recovery and that you will have a chance to unwind and get back to your normal routine. For Mike just being in his own bed with you by his side will be a great comfort while he recovers.

Oh Dori, I'm so sorry you and Mike are having to go through this! I'm glad he's home in his own bed. Good luck with the wound care. I know it's very difficult and stressful.

Take good care,

Margaret

Dori,
I am new here, and have placed you both in our "Prayer Circle" So many have been healed.

I know Mike will be fine with his machine at the hospital even if they have never seen that
small of one, RT are so very good at what they do, or they are where I have worked as a
nurse for over 30 years.

Get so rest, he and you need it.

God Bless your hearts,
Debbie

Update, Mike had a pretty restless night, very uncomfortable. The VN came today, one of our "regulars" from the previous surgeries and she is great and knew what to do about the wound care. His diastolic BP was especially low again when she took it and he was pretty lethargic but she made him drink a glass of cold water and the pressure came up gradually. He felt pretty good the rest of the day and I was able to change just the top dressing before he went to bed without causing him too much pain, that was just about enough for me. We'll see the Dr tomorrow. We're both grateful for all your prayers and I wish I could reply personally to each one of you, it's good to know you're here for us.

Hi Everyone! Things are looking a little better today. We saw the surgeon this morning and he likes his "handiwork"! There is a slight healing already beginning but it will take a long time. He also gave me a good lesson in the wound care which I can now understand, and I think after a few weeks I can really do this myself. The VNs are great and give me reassurance when they come, but there is no continuity, a new nurse every day and they all do things a bit differently which seems to agitate the patient and confuses me. Also we're held hostage to their schedule which varies every day. But after finally getting some sleep last night and a good dr report today, things are looking up. Now I have to concentrate on getting his cpap therapy back on track again. For some reason since he's home he's not adjusting his mask if it leaks during the night because the night nurses told him not to touch his mask and ring the bell if he needed help.Of course he was too "out of it" to do that so he slept right through the leaks and is doing the same thing at home. We'll be fixing that!
