Dori,
It is very obvious that your love for your husband and constant vigilance have made this crisis better than it would have been. He has an angel in you, and you are both in my prayers. I hope for you more good days than bad and more joy than sorrow, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Tell Mike he has a troop of well wishers here rooting for him and pulling for you Dori. You two are a testimony to how loving each other is suppose to work.

Please keep us updated as you do not need to go through this alone.

Karen

Dori....Our prayers are going out for you and Mike.I totaly know what you are talking about in "care".I have had both of my hips replace and had a rocky road in the hospital the second time.Thank goodness for "GOOD" nurses.I was going into shock and the ward nurse did not think there was much of a problem.Wee,my "GOOD" nurse(my wife) was with me and told her exactly what she wanted done.Well,I made it through the ordeal ok.

Again, many prayers go for you and Mike and speedy recovery for Mike.

Wes

Dori,

Best wishes to your husband and to you.

Once again I'm reminded of how lucky I am to have come home from Viet Nam without a Purple Heart.

Just a brief update, brought Mike home today after hours of snafus, arrogance and plain incompetence from the staff. The surgeon insisted on showing me how to do wound care before we left even though a VN is supposed to come tomorrow. He said she won't know and I'd have to show her what to do! Well, he's using a completely different protocol this time and since I was on total overload it all went out of my head the minute he left the room and I forgot to have him write the instructions for me. I'm hoping the VN will have some idea tomorrow and maybe I'll remember some of it myself. At any rate we'll be seeing him in the office Friday so I will watch more carefully. Mike was happy to be in his own bed tonight with me fitting his mask the proper way. I downloaded his reports from his hospital stay and the data was terrible, AHI=4's and 5's, LL all night and machine turned on and off every couple of hours. I guess it's to be expected with all the pain and nursing interruptions he was experiencing. Hope he'll have a more peaceful night now that he's home and that the healing of this gigantic wound will begin with no problems. Thanks for all your prayers. Dori
