Where Do You Place Your Machine?

Post by Maryland_Mike » Tue Sep 22, 2009 5:30 am

I've been placing my S8 on my nightstand, but a couple nights ago I got wrapped up in the hose and pulled it onto the floor. It made a big crash but it seems there was no damage done.

Now I'm paranoid about having a repeat. I've thought about placing the machine on the floor but breathing floor air all night just seems creepy to me. I've got a clean house but with two dogs it doesn't take long for dust to accumulate after the floors have been cleaned. What do you all do?

I keep mine on the floor under my bed. I have no pets, and the filters get cleaned/replaced often.

Mine is also on my nightstand (about 1 ft. below head level)......but I have it sitting on a couple of old, large, thick mouse pads (because the top of the nightstand is slick). The mouse pads also help deaden any sounds.

My nightstand has a lower shelf where I put my machine, also on a rubber mousepad. Some have said they velcro theirs to prevent pulling the machine off. Others have rigged a way to secure the hose not far from the machine so any jerks stop there. If you do that, I'd recommend the material used won't be harsh enough to rip your hose. Scrunchies (hair bands) get used for a lot around here. I can't put mine on the floor - this place manufacturers dust.

I have a wire shelf about 8" tall. It sits between the bed & nightstand. I put my machine & humidifier in the carry case and sat it on the stand. It stays clean, filters stay clean, lid takes care of the lights, no issues with air flow & over heating. Hose routes up behind my pillow and I tuck it between the mattress & headboard to keep it positioned. I can roll left & right without hose issues.

On a stand at the foot of the bed with a 9' hose that follows the line of my body up to my pillow. The nasal mask outlet is pointed toward the foot of the bed so everything lies in the same plane and stays in place all night. No tangles or upsets.

Mine's on my nightstand and my hose hangs over the headboard of my bed.

Anyone remember what a typewriter is? And remember the large rubber pads like todays mousepads? That is what I use. And before I got my new bedroom suite I had an old painted nightstand and just used that rubber shelf "paper" used in RVS and travel trailers.

RustyOleDude! What kind of carry case do you have for that M Series that there is enough air circulation when in the case and being used???

Mine sits on top of 2 footlockers next to my bed on top of an old towel. The hose is routed through a broom/mop holder on the headboard to keep it out of the way.

Mine's on a foot stool beside my bed. It's about 9" off the floor. I have cats so this keeps a lot of the hair out of the filters. The cats also like to race across my bedside tables knocking everything to the floor.

My machine sits on my nightstand, about two feet from my head. The blue lights don't bother me, the noise doesn't bother me, and I've yet to knock the machine off the nightstand.

I guess I'm boring.

Same for me
For me personally, it's perfect. I prefer to have my hose going over the top of my head rather than hanging down. The headboard acts as a "hose hanger" with the excess hose hanging down behind the headboard. When I need more hose because I've shifted my position,it easily plays out. When I shift back again and don't need the "extra" hose, the weight of the hose behind the headboard pulls the excess back.

The bottom drawer of this Ikea 2 drawer chest. Opened at night, closed in the morning.

I keep mine on the night stand on the side of the bed. So far no accidents. I do have the hose supported on Pur Sleeps Cozy-Hose Boss supports. I might have to rethink this now, never thought about pulling it off the night stand in my sleep.

Mine is 6 feet up in the air on top of a bookcase and milk crate, beside my Ikea loft bed. The hose goes under the cats pillow.

I had to get rid of my bedside table and use an antique two tiered end table. I need room for the cpap and a dawn simulator alarm clock. It isn't ideal. I pulled it off the table when I turned over in the night once, Then I used the scrunchie on a hook idea from the forum. I have to find something else, because if I put a cloth under the cpap, it moves, but if I don't it ruins the wood. Now that I've read this, I am going to try the mousepad, and that broom mop holder is a good idea too. When my brains come back, I may need to think of an invention that works.

Thanks for posting this question. There are so many questions on this journey that I can't even think of them...
