Right now mine is sitting on top on my nightstand, but I used to keep it in the top drawer of my nightstand. A few mornings I have woke up with the machine dangling by the hose over the edge of the bed -- it is a good thing that I don't use a humidifier.

Maybe I am lucky but I have had no hose problems and have never pulled it off the night stand... << Shrugs>> I dunno.

How come everybody hides it in drawers or slides it under the bed in the morning??

Mine just sits there and waits for me to go to sleep again....

With that said, I do put the hose into the night stand but that is all.....
It can't fall from a drawer. And you can't trip over it if it's slid under the bed.

Now I'm paranoid about having a repeat. I've thought about placing the machine on the floor but breathing floor air all night just seems creepy to me. I've got a clean house but with two dogs it doesn't take long for dust to accumulate after the floors have been cleaned. What do you all do?
Maryland_Mike,

I also keep mine on the nightstand next to my bed and I also use the HOSE BUDDY and have it placed under my mattress securely with my 6 foot aussie heated hose hooked to it, it works great, I just wish I would of bought the hose buddy a year a a half ago, I was always getting tangeled up in my hose through the night or yanking it so hard that I would almost pull the mask off my face, this thing is amazing, it also took the pressure off my nose. You can purchase one at https://www.cpap.com , they are a little pricey, I think it was around $59.99 & tax, for me, it was a "GOD" send! Check them out and read the customer reviews!!!

We also have two small dogs and I would never put my machine on the floor, you might also think about building a square or whatever shape your nightstand is and make a box, not a tall one, just high enough to keep your machine from getting pulled off the table or another option is to keep it in your nightstand drawer, just a few thoughts for ya!!

Thanks for all the great feedback everybody. Last night I tried putting the machine in the nightstand drawer and it worked out really well. Seems kind of obvious now that I've done it. Very secure and I actually prefer the height. I can just lean over a bit and see the display and buttons easier.

I am sold on the HoseBuddy.

Does anyone know anyone who sells them and shipps internationally. I cannot buy from CPAP.COM, where I would have to pay over 200 bucks in shipping cost.

I would appreciate anyone giving me a heads-up on a overseas friendly seller.

For goodness sake, I could get it delivered to Mars by Fedex for that sort of coin. Last time I checked, Australia was still on the same planet as the US.

Well my bed is an old fashioned bed, one that I sometimes thing I need a ladder to get in to at night So I don't have an actual nightstand, it is a 5 tall plastic storage unit thingy. Thingy being a techincal term, of course It sits on top of it, and is still maybe 8 inches lower than the bed. It does not move around and it takes up most of the top of the unit. I don't really have a headboard. It is very small so the pillows are actually taller than the headboard is. Only once has the machine shifted in the middle of the night from me rolling over. I would like to eventually get a longer hose.

My CPAP (no humidifier) sits on the top drawer of my nightstand. The li-ion battery, power strip, and spare hoses and filters are in the bottom drawer of the nightstand. The clock radio, phone, and table lamp have taken over the top of my nightstand.

In our bedroom my machine is in the drawer of the head board of the bed. In the RV I put it in the drawer below the closet in the bedroon of the RV.

On the lower shelf of my night table. More important than where it's placed, when considering potential accidents, is how is the hose secured. Mine is draped over the top of my headboard and secured by three robust, screw-fastened Velcro cable ties which maintain a trap-free drainage path to my humidifier. The mask hose will detach or the hose will rip apart well before any force is transmitted from the mask to the CPAP!

Well, if you a FedEx account, you could ask if cpap.com would be willing to ship it billed to your account. Or perhaps another seller.

Back in the day, I used to get companies in the US to send me my order billed to my FedEx account to avoid having them ship it using UPS and pay huge fees on both ends. Sometimes the so called 'brokerage fee' is more than the (initial) shipping cost and the item...and the duties and taxes they are charging the fee to collect.

It was probably a factor in why I said yes so quickly, when I was offered a job in the US.....
