Conference/Gala for our members???
What do you all think of if we were to organize a conference/weekend getaway for our members at a vacation spot somewhere in this country, of course, where we would get a committee together, find some guest speakers and have a weekend where we could all meet for fun and educating ourselves, and get to actually know our friends that we've made on this site?
I personally would love to have some type of event like that. We could make it an annual affair. I would volunteer to be part of this committee. We could all bring our families/friends/significant others and we would finally be able to put the faces to the names and spend a weekend educating ourselves further on one of our most important topics in all our lives. So what do you think???

Okay, Neversleeps is the refreshment committee chairperson. Already thinking ahead.
I really would love to make this happen. So far, only two people have responded to this idea, which makes me think either a lot of people went out last night (Friday night), went to bed early, or don't want to answer as they're not interested in doing this at all.
Guess we'll have to wait a day or two and see if any other feedback comes in. Maybe I am one of the few that feel this way...
And, R&R, great idea about getting cpap.com involved with a few manufacturing reps. We probably will all have to sign some type of waiver not to jump all over him/her with disgruntled opinions, depending who the rep may be. But great idea.

Think it's a great idea....but we may have to break into sections....east coast, mid- west, west etc......otherwise distance and expense may make it difficult?
Although the RLS group does one big annual meeting/conference, and so does the ValveReplacement group. I went to one RLS meeting and it was VERY helpful to get together with others, and to hear experts speak.

Lori,
I think this is a great idea! Unfortunately, finances keep me out for at least a year (got to get braces for my girls and insurance doesn't cover it, plus we are living on my 1/2 time income...in the Bay Area of California, no less).
p.s. I love your post..."But....I want to meet EVERYONE!". The statement certainly fits your personality Glad you are so active on this board. I really enjoy the refreshing and uplifting comments you provide. It keeps my crankiness at bay.
p.s.s. I was not able to open your initiating post on this subject yesterday at all. Kept getting a blank picture! Maybe that is why you have so few responses so far?

Middle of the country.....Michigan? OH? Midwest? Northcoast of the Midwest? How about taking a ferry over to Kelly's Island in OHIO? Or a state park lodge in the middle of the woods to appreciate the fall colors, like Salt Fork in OH or somewhere rustic and cozy w/fireplace, falling leaves...you get the picture? Time to go apple picking and go for a hayride....However those places may all be booked by this time. Also I may have to enjoy this from afar since we are saving for an h.a. trip in Nov (well...guess who's from OH?) Terry

A cruise
I think we should plan ahead and all book the same cruise...say from FL.
They often cut a deal when a group books together.
The sea, the fresh air, the food and booze for all. We can even come with the SO's who put up with us.
My 2 cents

FF,
AW!!! Thank you for those sweet comments. It SINCERELY means a lot to me, what you just wrote. Thank you.
I was having a lot of problems yesterday with my computer and this site. Even posted a thread about being guested and getting constantly logged off. Today it seems to be better. Titrator recommended clearing out the browser cache and deleting my cookies, which seems to be working so far (phew). There was a time that deleting your cookings meant getting sick to your stomach, no? Tossing your cookies??? Never mind, poor attempt at humour. I admit it.
Ms. Sandman, love your 2 cents. Great idea, a cruise!!! I'm loving it. Will have to look into that if this thing gets off the ground.
And, Neversleeps, LOL x 10000000...you never annoy anyone with your hysterical sense of humour. Part of your charm .
Actually, and this goes for Terry's reply, too, which was so enthusiastic, it made me grin, I wasn't thinking about doing something immediately as what I'm thinking of would take a couple of months just to plan and work out the details. I was thinking maybe in the spring of next year? Give everyone some time to put away a few extra dollars, let the gas prices drop and finalize where we can hold it. I figured we'd do some research, put the possibilities up on the board and let everyone decide what works best for the majority. Personally, I wish we could do Disney World. How could you not want to be there???
Hopefully today more replies will come in. If anybody would be interested in being involved in the planning, which won't be easy, I don't think, please let me know. I think this could be a really fun idea, as well as a chance to maybe learn from any speakers we would be able to get to volunteer their time to come and educate us.
