Howdy,
Since last Friday, we have heard that many people have had issues with the forum resetting and logging people out when they just logged in, or refreshing to the same create account page. There also is a forum post going on this subject.
We have found that this can be alleviated by clearing your browser cookies. We apologize for this inconvenience.
I have listed the steps below for how to clear your browser cookies with a link to the screen shot. If you are still having issues, please reply to this post, or email cpap @ cpaptalk.com.
NOTE:
Also please verify that your internet security level is set to medium. Setting the security level to High or customizing it may block the browser from accepting cookies.
Furthermore, it is possible you may have set certain domain name self managed. For example in IE7->Internet Option->Privacy->Sites. Please remove cpaptalk.com if you see it in the list. FF and other browser have this feature also.
Step 1) Clear cookie using the forum
Go here:
ucp.php?mode=delete_cookies
Step 2) Clear cookie using from the browser
If you are using Windows, and you use Internet Explorer 8:
- 1. Select "Internet Options" from "Tools" dropdown along the top of the browser.files/ie8-01.JPG
If you are using Windows, and you use Internet Explorer 7:
If you are using Windows, and you use FireFox 3.5:
If you are using a MAC, and you use FireFox 3.0.12:
If you are using a MAC, and you use FireFox 3.5.1:
If you are using a MAC, and you use Safari:
- 3. If you want to delete all of your cookies, then select "Remove All," if you would only like to remove the cookies for CPAPtalk, then scroll down till you see the cookies for CPAPtalk and select to "Remove" them.files/Safari-Step03-RemoveData.jpg

FYI, I tried 3 times to clear just the Firefox cookies and it still logged me out. I had to clear all my cookies just to log in. Deleting just the cpaptalk.com cookies doesn't do the job.
OT: love the forum AV Trinh! I'm a closet Bleach fan ^_^

Carolyn,
Which version of FireFox are you referring to for the Mac?
I'm using 3.5.1 and I do not see a "Clear Private Data" or "Options" to clear the "Cache" listed under "Tools".
Thanks,
Jan

Despite clearing my cookies, cache, etc I could not log in tonight. Tried two different browsers even. Decided I perhaps had forgotten my password and reset. unfortunately I had tried to log in too many times and it wants me to put in the confirmation code I see. Only it doesnt show up on either browser. Tried to give this site every permission possible but still not able to see the code to reset the password.
FInally created a new user. I was soverytired. Now I'm soverytired2.

I had the problem repeated on Tuesday, with IE7.

Sorry, but the remedies do not work. I tried them all on my computer (at work) and it would not work. Could log in, but then immediately logged off. And I could not post anonymously because the code is not visible as well.
Very odd and frustrating.

Do you have the permission required to perform this procedure at work?

In Firefox, this worked for me:
Tools-Page Info-Security-View Cookies-Clear
Then you will have to go back to Tools-Options if you want to protect the cookie so it will save your login info.

Jan,
I the version of Firefox I had listed before was 3.0.12. I have just updated the post to also show the directions for 3.5.1.
Regards,
Carolyn
