It seems there is a setting to use socket server and it seems that it is not necessary to use it in order to have client connect to the server. Please try again and let me know of any further problem you may encounter.

It seems to be working for me now..It was also as quick to log in as it used to be....
But hey, now we all have the latest flash installed, our cache has been cleaned out and cookies reset -- all things that should be done periodically anyway -- and we don't usually do it....

Many thanks Trinh!!!!! Good job!!!!!!
take care
cheers

the gumby issue might not be there ---- he hadn't rebooted chat since trihn did some adjustments

however, the underlining of chat after a url is posted and clicked it still there

Well I just tried the chat and got in ... but at the bottom of the monitor it kept saying ... transferring data from cpaptalk.com ... and never seemed to finish. There was one person in the room but didn't answer ... perhaps they were doing something else, dunno.

Will try again later when I see more people in the room.

Thank you for your concern, as far as i'm concerned we shouldn't have to do this periodically. The underline problem I cannot recreate it, is anyone one else having this problem? And about gumby, hmm he must be a ninja or something LoL.

The message at the bottom of the screen about how it is always trying to connect to cpaptalk.com seem to be doing in Firefbox only. Perhaps the way the flash was designed for firefox. I do not see this in IE, but from what I can see Firefox is displaying the status of the flashchat as it is keeping its connection alive with the chat server by refreshing/updating new chat contents.

The underline link problem, I logged as TrinhVu(IE) and TrinhVu2(FF) post links on both and it open a new window without problem. Must we look into better solution?

Furthermore, I can make it where if you click on the Chat Link at the top right it can autolog you in(with your cpaptalk username) if you're already signed in cpaptalk.

Let me know what you think.

the underline came a couple posts after the link click if that helps

miko said it didn't underline for him I think - he is using linux

I had it - it underlines the whole chat - as my pict on this thread shows - I am using XP media edition

We will work on it more for you.

I haven't looked this morning yet - can we get ignore back in place? you had taken it out - I don't use it often but it does help - actually since pms don't auto pop up it isn't as crucial to have it there as in the past

personally I don't want a "cpaptalk members only" chat - that discourages newbies

It seem the new chat is having too much problem. Let me reinstall it and see how it goes and tweak it a little too. Stay tune for good news.. else we can roll back the old one.

Alright, I have fixed the chat to do what you all wish it to do. Since I do not have Macromedia Flash Mx to edit the source code I cannot modify the source and recompile it. As for the smilies I came up with a work around by using text replacement. As far as I know after the reinstallation it seems the only thing broken is the sound where its meaning is backward. When you click mute all -> unmute, this is a bug from the original software. I have to wait til I get my hand on Macromedia Flash MX from a friend and see if I can tweak that. I have been reported from Jules that her unlined link has been fixed. Will wait for Gumby let's see if we can rescue him form being a ghost also.
