Say, you never did get back to me on why you deleted all your previous posts (the ones with assorted whining, insults, generalized P&Ming, etc.)

I heard the use of strapparatus causes cancer and birth defects. Is that true?

He also deleted his blog;

I am withdrawing any further contact with the cpaptalk.com website.

Good thing I viewed the videos before reading the negative posts as I really think they were well done and demonstrated the product as intended.

I guess I've always been a "maverick", not following the inside crowd, but I find a very hostile atmosphere here regarding outsiders bringing anything new to the forum. At the same time, positive response from anything new brought to the forum by fellow insiders. Are you all sure you're not associated with the liberal media?

Well, I guess it could be the lack of love in the campaign commercials is contagious, but thank God only a few more days to go! But common guys, lighten up will ya?

Please read the following message:
CpapedTexan wrote:Thankfully, I've finally found the solution for my headgear slippage problem. I really appreciate all of the suggestions that were made about which products to try but the one that works for me is the Strapparatus.

It's a headgear system designed by a respiratory therapist, and it stays perfectly in place while I'm sleeping. As for leakage, not once did I have to wake up to readjust my mask because of air getting into my eyes, and I slept (for once) all through the night.

It's comfortable, adjustable, very light weight, and affordable. I plan on using it from now on and trashing my other headgear. Thank you so much!!

My view is that if you don't like the idea behind the product then simply don't buy it. Otherwise cut Strap some slack. We all have plenty of shortcomings. Customer relations is definitely an area that started off very shaky around here with ol' Strap IMO. Big deal. Another flawed human being as far as I'm concerned. So far the species seems to be batting about 100% in that category as far as I can tell anyway. So what's new?

There may be some users among us who prefer this offering over all others. If so, let them have at it and report their findings. I say let the merits or flaws of this product drive whether the product stays or goes around here---not personality factors or guesses about good or bad intentions.

Regarding the strapparatus, I've gotta agree with SWS. I too watched the video and I think it looks good. It comes in different sizes and it is compatible with an assortment of different nasal and/or full face masks. Since it is compatible with the quattro pro ffm I would like to try it. It is only 39.00 and may just be worth trying. I just wish they would ship it to Canada Post for us Canadians so we don't get soaked by UPS.

When I have a chance to try it I will let you know what I think of it.

As SWS says, cut him some slack. We all fall short of perfection (especially me). I usually walk around with a foot in my mouth. Think of it this way. At least this guy is trying to make an apparatus to hold a mask so that it doesn't leak around the eyes! I'm all for that! He's doing more than a lot of the professionals some of us have encountered. How many do you know who are offering to try to provide solutions to one of our biggest problems, leaks? (or anything else for that matter).

Just my thoughts on this... As for comments strap has made in the past, how many of our own loved ones have made not nice comments to us and we forgive them or visa versa and they forgave us? Can we not carry this same curtesy to others outside our family? I hope everyone I ever made dumb comments to forgives me and I hope we can all forgive others who do it to us. Most people, I believe, don't purposely plan to hurt others with their words but the words are said or written without thought to how they will affect the other person(s). Maybe those of us, me included, who speak before we think about how it will be received, should slow down a bit before speaking, or writing. Now that I've said that, I expect I may get 40 lashes with a wet noodle.

I think everyone on this site is really nice and we are in a way, like a family who encourages and supports and helps each other...and yes, even forgive each other.

I'm sorry, but I don't think it's right to berate this guy for showing off his wares here.

I can understand his "sins of the past" which have been discussed in this thread.

Here's an example from my days bass fishing. Everyone who ever thought they might be good at bass fishing would go after "sponsorships". The real pros get some really nice sponsorships (free boats, free motors, free tackle, and all sorts of "branding" deals). However, the weekend wanna-be's will sign up with any company for any product just to wear a "patch" that has that company's name on it. It could have been Joe's Smelly Buttcrack, but if a guy could claim to be a pro, he'd take all the buttcrack he could get, as long as free or a reduced price that "only special people got".

I see that same mentality on here. Someone offers a free trial of a product and people can't trip over themselves fast enough to sign up. Then they come back and post on and on about how great a product is -- in hopes of getting more for free I guess. When the well dries up, so does a person's opinion of the product. So, I can certainly see how a mfg could just get tired of pandering to the crowd that wants something for nothing and how the "exchange of information" can go from very friendly to hostile.

I hope the product does what it's supposed to do and that if it does, the guy has success with the product.

I'm just not sure how one product gets instantly annointed as "snake oil" and another gets nothing but support.

I agree with the first; as regards the last, I suspect that people who are members of the forum probably get a fairer hearing than those who come here *only* to post about a product they've invented. I know I am more likely to give something a try if it's from an existing forum member. Is that unreasonable? From my perspective, those who are here for awhile better understand what most of us are looking for. That doesn't mean there aren't other good products out there but it's like dealing with family instead of total strangers.

Just like I prefer to buy from locally-owned businesses, I also prefer to buy from fellow forum members.

Mindy

Last I heard was this forum was for Patients and support of CPAP. Even the sponsor of this website does less advertising than the slimeballs that use it to peddle their wares because they are too cheap to buy advertising.

The guy is a slime ball, I'd bet money he doesn't have OSA, he's a RT only posting here to sell his craparatus headgear.

In his very few posts here he admitted he was disgruntled because CPAP.COM decided against taking on his craparatus headgear product line.

So he comes here and SPAMS us with his messages. Gee I wonder what the User policy was when he signed up for his account?

Not too hard to find, I think that is found at the bottom of the page under "User Agreement".
Use of CPAPtalk.com

While using CPAPtalk.com, you will not:

post content of an inappropriate nature on the Sites; violate any laws, third party rights, or any of our policies;

use CPAPtalk.com, if you are below the age of 18, if you are unable to form legally binding contracts, or if you are temporarily or permanently suspended from CPAPtalk.com;

post any material, or links to any material that is (at our sole discretion) knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violates any law;

transfer your CPAPtalk.com account to another party without our consent;

distribute or post, email or otherwise transmit any unsolicited or unauthorized advertising, promotional materials, junk mail, spam, chain letters, or pyramid schemes;

use any form(s) of technology (at our sole discretion) that might cause harm to CPAPtalk.com, or to the interests or property of CPAPtalk.com users;

duplicate, change, or disseminate content from CPAPtalk.com and our copyrights and trademarks;

gather, compile, or in any way collect information about users, including email addresses, without first obtaining such user's express consent;

register or use any email address that you do not own or for which you do not have the express permission of the owner to register with CPAPtalk.com.
Luckily we don't have to impose the rules here often, but it is my opinion this guy is violating the next to the last rule above and impersonating a slime ball.

Next thing you know someone else will come by peddling a better hose or bright blue light sunglasses.
someday science will catch up to what I'm saying...

Lets face it folks there is only ONE reason a business provides products & services... to earn profits! There are not there simply providing services & products out of the goodness of their hearts.

I have to say that I am intrigued by this product but not so much so that I'm willing to fork over at least $50.00 it will take to get into Canada.
