Re: Update with video link
Good post SWS, Perhaps we all can agree that the execution of Straps marketing plan had what we used to say "a hitch in the giddy-up", but he is most likely still a decent human being. I don't recall the initial responses to his post, but I hope they were receptive at least to trying something new as we really do want to encourage new designs for therapy. We don't have to buy it, but can't we agree to not shoot the messenger?

OldLincoln, you know I have always respected and appreciated what you've had to say. I still do. But I must disagree with you on this one. It's the messenger who did the shooting. He slammed us -- as a group -- in his own public forum. And now he's slamming us with the Bible.
Only last month, on 9/26/08, he posted these words (which bdp522 and StillAnotherGuest also quoted) in his now-empty strapparatus.blogspot.com:
Certainly I'm in favor of cutting people breaks when they don't act right and reminding myself that I've said and done things more times than I can count which were insulting, insensitive and otherwise hurtful. That doesn't mean I should keep doing it, and that certainly wouldn't excuse me for being sweet to someone's face, then insulting and deriding them the moment they can't hear me.
Professor Moriarty, you offend me. Only a month ago, you publicly said hateful things about the members of this forum behind our backs, and now you dare to piously reproach us with this:

In the same blog, he also said this:Now that every CPAPTALK.COM yahoo wants to offer opinions on Respiratory Therapists, and degrade innovations that improve therapy to any degree here are some positive comments on Lincare.
Does anyone believe this is appropriate behavior for a businessman? I have no problem with someone trying to make a living, sell a product, whatever. And yes, since Johnny allows PurSleep here, it appears that a precedent has been set. From what I've seen, though, a course showcasing both companies should be offered in business schools throughout the country. It could be entitled "Business Owners: Studies in the Best and the Worst."I'm getting feedback from the eyes and hands of a person who also "assists" users in sizing their headgear! (Something that cpaptalk.com forum yahoos don't seem to understand). When you receive something for free, you get the liberty to express everything bad and don't look at the slightest good a product may offer. So, my point is, to the cpaptalk.com forum yahoos who are totally angered by having to use these devices is get a life! If your free sample headstrap didn't fit right, write your congressman.... I'm not in the business of making sure you don't have marks on your face, or trying to fit your headstrap over the internet to get positive feedback when your business is to put my business down as frequently and with as much passion as I've tried to build it with.

However, you are right on both statements. It seems that you're referring to the Sermon on the Mount. This is from that same sermon, as recorded in Luke 6:Strapparatus wrote:The bible tells us to love our enemies as well as our friends. ...
Perhaps some of us require a spiritual change...
What in your blogspot was loving or gave evidence of any spiritual change in your own life? If you ever posted something like, "Wow, I really blew it. I was angry and said some nasty things, and I apologize for doing that," I didn't see it. You’ve missed the point of that whole sermon, which was this: individuals should examine their own lives and change their own behavior where it’s needed. God is more than capable of letting me know where I need to change. He doesn’t need your help, and He certainly didn’t intend the Bible to be a bludgeon for people to use against each other. Kindly allow God to tend to His business, and you can tend to yours. The two are not the same. Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, "Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye," when you yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye. No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. Each tree is recognized by its own fruit. People do not pick figs from thornbushes, or grapes from briers. The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks.

Re: Update with video link
Well, I just hope any one or several negative experiences do not preclude this message board from receiving the type of innovative and highly beneficial product experiences that occurred with PurSleep and Padacheeks.
I'm of the opinion that we can collectively differentiate and properly relegate: 1) typical spam, 2) great new products with accommodating service, and 3) lacking products or service. I personally think that the more we see of item two around here, the better off all CPAP users are. And I think this message board will have absolutely no problem summarily rejecting cases one or three.
This is potentially a market-making message board to be catered to by innovative businesses. CPAP is tough and we would all love to see improvements or enhancements to our therapy. But prospective businesses shouldn't think for a minute that the well-informed and even opinionated members of this message board will ever cater to them. It just ain't gonna happen around here.

It was easy... I just picked up on the extreme subtleties and nearly imperceptible undercurrents that were kicking around in this thread. It's just a matter of practicing and eventually learning how to key into the subtle symphony of dynamic cues often present in group conversations like these.mindy wrote:Why SWS - how can you possibly say we're opinionated?!!

Re: Update with video link
Marsha, thanks for the review, I hadn't read all that, but even if I had, I guess I'd still say there is a lot of room for improvement for all. Some have been on the receiving end of quite disturbing posts even when undeserved. So the intent of my post still remains, lets all try a bit harder.

Hmmm - "subtle symphony" is an amazingly euphonic (or is that alliterative) description, SWS ... how apt!-SWS wrote:the subtle symphony of dynamic cues often present in group conversations like these.

Now I am beginning to be disappointed with myself for never having been thoroughly blasted by the members here.
Hmm, I will have to think up something to provoke you.

Interesting location change, Echo. Now, which 2X4 was that, exactly?

Re: Update with video link
wow, I'm honored, *two* people have already noticed my location change!
To be honest, the 2x4 I'm referring to is in fact real though it probably wasn't really a 2x4 BUT IT SHOULDA BEEN!
... so here I am, complaining (analyzing?) why I'm still feeling like crap even though my AHI is to-die-for, and people are offering all these great suggestions but I haven't done much about it yet besides visit the sleep doc and try to find correlations.... and then in parallel I'm preaching to people about getting checked out for GERD and reflux because my dad had it and it caused cancer and other people have had success with improving therapy after getting treated for GERD and how it's likely that if you use CPAP you get GERD and on and on an on..... but never ONCE taking my OWN advice
I've been delaying going to the Gastro for about 6 months now.
Well last night I slept the best I have in a while, and the only thing I did different was take some strong OTC acid reducer just before bed. Bingo! No more GERD-like stuff during the night and in the morning.
So, Snoredog should be the first in line to hand out the first thwak with the 2x4. Sockknittser may follow, and then any others who care to join in.
