What's the best movie ever created?
Re: What's the best movie ever created?
Old Lincoln, I'm with you there. I have to switch channels everytime something like that happens. It's far too painful to me.
I also can't watch children's recitals and plays for that same reason. I just feel so sorry for those little kids horrible anxiety, it sets me on edge.
Cheers,
B.

I currently have a stash of Nasal Aire II cannulas in Small or Extra Small. Please PM me if you would like them. I'm interested in bartering for something strange and wonderful that I don't currently own. Or a Large size NAII cannula.

Re: What's the best movie ever created?
Have to add my two cents....loooovvvvvved Forest Gump, have watched it many times. He overcame every obstacle that ever came his way!! "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get."
To breathe or not to breathe.......
Re: What's the best movie ever created?
GOOSE!! I looked up his bio to remind myself of his movies, and tomorrow's his birthday!! Wow. 78 years old, and one look at him gets my blood boiling, and not in a bad way. His best movie? Any or all of them...never a "phoned in" performance. Favorites?goose wrote:I can't think of any movie that Sean Connery's been in that he didn't do an exemplary job!!!!
He's kind of like Dustin Hoffman -- anything he touches turns to gold......
I'm sorry to the other actors that have played the part, but Sean Connery "IS" James Bond!!!!!
"Hunt for Red October"??? Smashing!!!!
Indiana Jones father??? Who better??? (can't believe they "killed him off", but......)
another two cents worth.....
cheers
goose
all the ones we've mentioned
Entrapment
The Name of the Rose
The Rock
More than all of them, my aboLUTE favorite is Medicine Man. Everything about it was perfect, including Lorraine Bracco's performance. And Sean could not have been more wonderful if he tried.
Excuse me, it's getting awfully warm in here. Pshew. Gotta go turn up the AC. See ya later......

I'm with you on Medicine Man, The Name of the Rose lost me quickly as do most movies showing men in dark clothing in the middle of the night. I can see, but not in the dark. My wife said it was pretty good though.

It's going to be okay in the end; if it's not okay, it's not the end.

Again, I have to agree with you. I have Very Low Vision (yes, this is a disorder) and just can't see alot of these BLACK movies. I used to LOVE the X Files - but I could never SEE anything!!!

I'm so with you there. If a child finds it exciting and wants to perform, I cheer them on. If they don't want to and have anxiety about it, then I make my voice heard about how the child shouldn't have to do it. My niece's and nephews appreciated this but their parents with movie camera in hand didn't. : 0
Re: What's the best movie ever created?
Oh, I don't say anything. I just am always "otherwise engaged" if I get invited to those things.
I really hated them as a child. I'm probably just projecting my own anxieties, so it's better if I'm not there.

Not can they see in the dark but they have super hearing! If I turn it up to where I can hear somebody closes a door and blows me away, or worse they cut to commercial and that OxyClean guy screams st me. Can't they get it right even once in a while?
That is only on certain shows, 24 is another, but many are just fine.

Was that you, the little girl that threw up on the boy at the end of the line in my grade school play? Wish I could thank her because after that I forgot about my own anxiety!Babette wrote:Oh, I don't say anything. I just am always "otherwise engaged" if I get invited to those things.

Re: What's the best movie ever created?
Sounds very much like something I would do - I was known far and wide for my projectile vomiting at the least little stimuli, but no. Only play I was ever in was in High School. I had three lines, a scream, and a buzzer to push. I somehow managed that without vomiting. Good thing, too, because I was wrapped head to toe in gauze bandages so I looked like a mummy.

I wanted that role but always seemed to be cast otherwise.Babette wrote:Sounds very much like something I would do - I was known far and wide for my projectile vomiting at the least little stimuli, but no. Re: What's the best movie ever created?
Of course it's Young Frankenstein
Napoleon Dynamite is fast becoming my 2nd favorite. I absolutely hated it the first time I saw it, then watched it again, then again, and now it is SO funny and SO accurate. It totally reminds me of how high school was in small town Idaho and it just cracks me up.
Of course I also love Fried Green Tomatoes and actually have a dog named Idgie
Actually I have lots of favorites, and most of them have already been listed, so guess maybe I am 'normal'
