Folks, It's got to be "Gone With the Wind", the best XPAP movie ever made, or maybe it was "Gone With My Wind". Jim

hee hee thanks Babs. Actually, I think he is inhaling Nitrous Oxide, a.k.a. laughing gas. You may have had it at the dentist's office. Even better than oxygen!

Yeah -- Nitrous is fun, but it's not better than oxygen.......

In fact, it displaces oxygen in your lungs and without proper regulation you can suffocate on Nitrous.....(Bummer I know, but that's why the dentist office only uses like 3% to 5% or so.....doesn't take a lot).
In case you didn't know -- look at the propellant used in some cans of Whipped Cream......wink wink nudge nudge.............

Just don't want anyone sucking on a nitrous bottle and dying due to lack of Oxygen!!!!!

cheers

Hi, Old Lincoln.

Any chance you're thinking of "House of D," where Robin had the part of a janitor? Although I missed it on my list (rats), "Life As A House" is one of my favorite movies and starred one of my favorites, Kevin Kline.

You're welcome : ) http://www.like-i-like.com uses your ratings to provide a number for movies you haven't watched, thereby helping you choose a movie that was like one you rated as one you liked. I forgot to mention this : )

Funny, I really was thinking of 'Life as a House', but for some reason had Robin Williams and Kevin Kline crossed. Kevin Kline is one of my favorites also and I re-watch Dave a couple time a year.

Another one I like is "Finding Forester". Excellent performance by Rob Brown - Bio Here:

It's going to be okay in the end; if it's not okay, it's not the end.

Yes, "Dave" is a great movie and one I also watch with some regularity. Kevin Kline is one of those actors who can always be trusted to raise the quality of whatever movie he's in to a higher level than if he hadn't been in it. (that's kind of convoluted, but I think you get my meaning) I have a list of actors like that (not written... just bouncing around in my head... one of those "I'll know it when I see it" things). If someone from that list is in the movie, even if only in a supporting role and even if I know nothing about it, I need to watch it. "De-Lovely" was like that for me. Have you seen it? (full synopsis at http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0352277/#comment) I love Cole Porter's music, turned on the movie for the first time because of that and because Kevin was in it, but I hadn't known anything about Cole Porter's private life, so it was quite a surprise. Someone else could have made the role just trashy and/or sensational, but Kevin (as always) helped you see the man's heart and the many conflicts that made him the person he was. I must admit, though, I'll never view some of his songs in the same way that I had. Not so much because of the content, but just because I had a mental picture of what he was saying, and I was so wrong in a lot of cases. Kind of like expecting a person to look a certain way and then meeting him/her for the first time. No judgment involved, just surprise. But such are the realities of reality.

Sean Connery's certainly on that "even if it's only reading from a telephone book" list. You're absolutely right about Rob Brown's performance in "Finding Forrester," but I would never think, "Oh, yeah, 'Finding Forrester.' One of Rob Brown's." It would be, "Sean Connery was so GREAT in that movie. Whoever played the part of the kid was good, too. What was his name?" After seeing that movie, I started wearing my socks inside out. It just made such good sense.

I've really been enjoying everyone's posts to this thread, but I can't imagine coming up with only one title. That would be like trying to name the best song ever written. Hmmmm..... wouldn't THAT be a fun thread?

I can't think of any movie that Sean Connery's been in that he didn't do an exemplary job!!!!

He's kind of like Dustin Hoffman -- anything he touches turns to gold......

I'm sorry to the other actors that have played the part, but Sean Connery "IS" James Bond!!!!!

"Hunt for Red October"??? Smashing!!!!

Indiana Jones father??? Who better??? (can't believe they "killed him off", but......)

another two cents worth.....
cheers

I read the synopsis and will pass on the movie. I have difficulty watching the self destructive themed movies. I watched Ray because it was him and Will Smith and we even bought it, but now I don't want to see it again. Along the same theme are those where somebody makes such a stupid fool of themselves I get very embarrassed for them while everybody else is laughing. I don't remember the name but one example was where this guy and girl meet in a book store and spend the afternoon and he falls in love. When returning to the parent's house he discovers she is his brother's fiance. He makes a huge fool of himself and I had to leave the room while my wife was splitting a seam. Cute is fine but I just don't find belabored self cruelty entertaining to me. Weird huh?

You are talking about "Dan in Real Life" with Steve Carrell
