"Every Monday Evening" Live Chats 7CST/8EST

Post by forumadmin » Tue Jun 14, 2005 11:25 pm

Greetings,

I've been really pleased with the scheduled live chats. The first was great, the second was even better, and I'm told our most recent ended around 12:30 AM. About midnight I wimped out and went to bed.

We talk about all sorts of stuff. I think my favorite occurance is when a newbie comes in asking which way is up. The room gets together and points him/her in the right direction. Its great to watch that happen in a place we helped setup.

I think twice a week is a little too frequent for huge get togethers though. For the next month or so, I'm going to keep the live chats down to one a week. It'll be easy to remember and hopefully it will be well attended.

This means our next scheduled live chat will be held the evening of June 20th.

On the 20th, I will be in fresh from the Denver APSS Sleep Conference and ready to dish the dirt. cpaptalk.com has a booth at that conference. Fisher and Paykel are going to be showing off a machine they claim eliminates all rainout. AEIOmed will let us know when we can expect their Aura CPAP.

So be sure to show up and get the low down! See you in the chat!

Johnny

Look at the time of the post you just made. That is the equivalent of 2:36p.m. EST.

I'm awful with math, but I think if you live in the U.K., you'd need to add five hours to the "EST" time.

If a chat is scheduled for Monday night at 8 p.m. EST, you (in the U.K.) would need to be in there Sunday morning at 1 a.m.

0100 military time

One hour after midnight!

Are you enough of a night owl to stay up that late? Hope so...would be fun chatting with you, phantom! Lots of nice people show up. It's fun.

P.S. Make that TUESDAY at 1 in the morning, your time, Phantom!! (Thanks, Bob! ) After all this, you'd better make at least a five minute appearance, Phantom!

Hi RG,

Did you ever see Around the World in Eighty Days? Ever watch the sunrise facing California? I mean from anywhere east of California?

I'm a sci-fi kind of guy and paid special attention to The Time Machine. So pretty much have the ol calendar mastered. for example - Sunday comes before Monday and Tuesday comes after both of them.

No wonder the Scots invented golf, they are always ahead of us. Promiscuous lot they are though. Like my dad, the sex maniac. Had his fling in Scotland ( and I don't mean a dance, well who knows- they do things a little different over there). Then he took the fast boat to Canada so he could marry and bed mom all on the same day.

Phantom, did you ever know my dad? Passed away at 92 with a smile on his face. But he sure knew what time it was both there and here. Could always call his girls from the old country in the morning and ask them how their day went.

ROTFL, Bob!!
Sunday comes before Monday and Tuesday comes after both of them.
And I was trying to be soooo careful to get the time right. Whew.. so, days of the week are my problem now...not just math!

Thanks, Bob!!

Hi,

I'm a new member Just bought a couple of the snuggles to see if they will help me and my MOM with rainout.

I find this site to be helpful in determining what time it is in different parts of the world: http://www.worldtimezone.com/

Are the chats archived so that in case we miss one, we can take a look at what was discussed?

Phantom that is as clear as mud to me, does that mean that for People in the UK to be able to participate we are talking about 1 am on a tuesday morning as opposed to a monday?

I am truly and well confused now! Eastern time Western time all sound the same to me we might as well be talking MARTIAN times.

I can't make heads nor tails of the time zone map kindly supplied either. Haven't a clue of how to interpret it. I hated geography and I think I missed that bit, which I bitterly regret now! I can't for the life of me work it out.

Sorry to be thick!

Yes.

Hey, Fifi, I'm the world's worst at figuring out mathy time stuff. As you saw, I couldn't even get the days straight before. LOL!!

Wait a minute. I feel like I'm beating a dead horse, here. I believe I (occasionally) know what day it is, but I'm not sure what time it is. It's dark out, though.

Are the Live Chats 8EST (Standard Time) or 8EDT (Daylight Saving Time)? We observe Daylight Saving Time here in MD so 8EST would be 9EDT. Or is it the other way around? At any rate, what time is the Live Chat?

Many of us now may be advocating the use of theAmantadine(Symmetrel medication for the Parkinson’s treatment but I think not many people are aware that the potential benefits of the drug to the Parkinson’s disease was encounterd by chance and many would be surprised to learn that still its mechanisms of action are not well understood. At present the use of the drug is facilitated during the preliminary stages of the Parkinson’s disease which is also referred to as the monotherapy and if situations permit it is also used in conjunction with other medications as well. Lastly some current studies have promoted that amantadine can also reduce the severity of dyskinesia
