That should be easy. If you are PC based at home with Windows XP and he is using the Enhanced Adapt SV, tell your husband to request that Doc 1 script both a Reslink module and ResCan v.3.4 so he can collect data from the machine and forward her the information periodically for her analysis and review.

Were you able to get an Rx for Reslink and/or ResScan software?
Having the ability to download and graph the results will be valuable in understanding whether or not the home treatment is an improvement?

Thanks much, Doug! I remember S7 Elite having a firmware upgrade path to S7 AutoSet. It didn't seem that popular IIRC.

I would think many ASV users and docs would love to have a firmware-upgrade path toward nightly AHI scores. Maybe Resmed overturned their initial decision based on adequate perceived demand for these conversions.

Since I only work for the express pleasure of the board, I thought I would make the 'old' Adapt SV available for free trials so ya'all could kick the tires, wing-the-dials, and take the bugger for a test run, so-to-speak. Well, we can all sit around and be sad and do nothing until the doctor comes back in a week and puts him back on CPAP. Or, while we still have the keys to the car, we can innovate, move forward, and crank up the pressure to 8 + 3 = 11. What would happen if the worst outcome was this guy actually felt better?

i would agree with you, dsm, if this was some kind of Frankenstein/Adapt SV set-up like Lubman is on, I too would leave it alone. But we are only talking about a very small incremental change here.

After almost 2 weeks, his GP recommends PAXIL! Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't paxil cause the same problems with REM as Prozac (plus a whole bunch more)? I think we will wait till Wed and see what doc#1 thinks.

I think you are right to see what Doc#1 has to say. A sleep specialist may give you a better answer, in general, than a GP suggesting a med.

That's not to say that your GP might not have a point - but its best to put you stock in someone with experience in which you have developed some trust. They know the specifics for your husband's case - we are just seeing a small part of it (some PSG results).

I'm with you - don't like side effects of some meds.

Well DSM has seen my setup, not sure I would call it Frankenstein like set up. Not sure if ResMed would agree, but some specialists feel that the
algorithm needs a bit of help with CO2 dead space. Adding a hose and using a mask with a different venting design, isn't a complex change.

It is good to have clarified that the Enhanced is a machine, and not simply a firmware upgrade. It would be cheaper if it was firmware, but as DSM noted quite some time back, the changes sounded like they had to be more that in firmware.
