I really enjoy my Pur Sleep (Deep is my favorite). What does air candy smell like? It must be new. How did it go? My hubby loves it too - says it makes the occasional blasts of air from my mask worthwhile. : )

i believe the air candy is only out for testing right now. i'm trying out the (strawberry) tonight. have never tried any of these products before.this is all new to me

The AirCandy is a new lineup of six synthetic aromatics that were selected with the help of several dozen pursleep customers (thanks a lot!).

They include

French Vanilla
Strawberry
Black Cherry
Peach
Dark Chocolate
Bubblegum (bananaberry)

They are in stock and ready to go. These are high-quality, cosmetic-grade aromatics of very common smells that everyone has experienced sometime in their life (except maybe the chocolate, which turned out to be much better than I thought it might be). One of the purposes for the new lineup is to be able to expand into pediatrics and sleep lab markets (any help along those lines would be appreciated).

The current trial is for the new Basic Starter Pack that includes three different aromatics than the original Basic Starter Pack: Strawberry, French Vanilla, and a tenth essential oil called Calm (eucalyptus, lavender, rosemary). It's like Vicks except it's much more mild (no camphor and the rosemary is the cineol type, not the camphor type).

I have been intrigued by your product, SleepGuy, but have hesitated to order it because I sometimes have a sensitivity to perfumes and colognes when, to put it politely, "worn liberally" by people. And so I was worried that having fragrance coming through a mask could possibly be too strong for my nose. Is it just a very subtle wafting through the air? I assume you have tried it yourself. Can you (or someone) describe the level of scent that the mask user experiences? 'Cause I haven't succumbed to throwing my mask off *yet*, but the idea of pleasant smells as I drift off is very appealing to me, so I'm definitely intrigued but too cheap to shell out $29.99 without hearing from some first-hand users about the intensity of it.

Any "user reviews" would be appreciated. Thank you!

The scent can be as strong or as light as one wishes. It depends on how much you apply to the diffuser pads that come with it. I like mine a little on the stronger side so use a bit more. I have found them to be very relaxing and most definetly pleasant to drift of with. I am a fan of essential oils anyway. So using this product is a great thing for me. I pretty much use it nightly.

I tend to like it a little stronger, too, depending on the scent, so I use a few more drops also. I first used it when I was using the nasal pillows, and now I have the Quattro FF, and have to use a lot more to get the scent to come thru..I guess because in the nasal pillows the air was more concentrated coming into my nose. I like to turn the humidifier on to warm up while I read awhile, and leave the mask right by my head and enjoy the subtle aroma coming thru even before I 'mask up'..very relaxing.

I am not a fan of scents, although I am lucky enough not to have allergies towards them. I do not use scented candles, air fresheners, colognes, etc. I do my best to keep some distance from people wearing perfumes.

SleepGuy was kind enough to include me in one of his product trials. The essential oil scents are very different from the kind of aromas I avoid and are quite pleasant. I use Pur-Sleep on an occasional basis, and I like to use just a little. You can adjust the strength of the scent by how much you place on the diffuser pad and how close to the cpap air intake you place it. Unlike a number of other people, I do not find that Pur-Sleep gives me a better night's sleep. But, it definitely provides a pleasant scent to fall asleep to.

I'm a nightly user. As others have said, the strength is "user controllable". I like mine a bit on the stronger side so I use like 5 drops on the pad. I also have the issue of using Flonase for allergies and that tends to deaden the sense of smell a bit.

I don't find it helps me sleep any deeper, but it eliminates that plastic smell from the blower, humidifier, hose and mask.
I even travel with at least one scent.....it helps eliminate that "hotel room" smell that I detest!!!

I do prefer the original essential oils, but I have to say that the Strawberry is great and so is the bubblegum!!!!! In fact, on my diffuser, the strawberry seems to last for days -- oh. hurt me!!!!!

Sleep Guy's got a winner!!!!

I'm very sensitive to perfumes and strong aromas also. Just the same I decided to give PUR Sleep a try and ordered the full set (Is it the Deluxe? Can't remember, but it was about $60?)

Anyway, I agree that user control of how much and which aroma you use is the key. Some aromas are very light and airy - which I prefer. Then again, some are very strong, even overpowering. Of course I am speaking for myself only. Others may feel exactly the opposite about the same aromas - that's my sensitivity coming into play.

E.g., I think it was the "Vanilla" that I really liked. It smelled nice to me and was not overpowering to me at all, even when I used what I thought was a lot. Then I tried others and thought "Clear" sounded very mild, yet it was much more than I could handle! I had to get up and move it away from my CPAP machine!

With the package I purchased you get about 8 or 9 aroma vials, but they are pretty small. So I figure they are basically good mostly for testing which I like. When I have tried all and decided which I really like, I'll buy just those.

I didn't notice a size listed on the vials - have to check that later. But I am hoping that they sell larger bottles so when I order the aromas I did like I can get a little more for the money.

I have each of the scents now and use them on a rotating basis. In fact I have each in a little snack size zip closure container and I put last night's scent in the back and pick tonight's scent from the front. I use three drops and place the diffuser pad on the cords at the back of the machine right under the air intake.

I was in on the trial of the air candy scents and concocted a "banana split" with chocolate, vanilla, strawberry and cherry.


I do feel that my sleep quality is improved by using Pur Sleep every night, but of course "your mileage may vary".

Okay - how about this question - if you are a 3 drops or more user, how long does 1 5ml bottle of the essential oil last?
I'm intrigued and am thinking of purchasing, but, still wonder how often I will have to purchase more bottles of essential oil. Since my DME is terrible and my sleep doctor is of no use to me, I end up buying everything out of pocket (filters, hoses, masks, etc.). So, I want to know how much money a week/month/year I will have to pay for this as well.
In "regular" stores the essential oils run around $6-$9 dollars, so prices are a little on the high side considering shipping/handling charges added on top.

Sounds wonderful. I bought the large pack so still have a lot of oil. I will try when I've dwindled down my current stock. : )
