SleepGuy's Travelin' Pur-Sleep Trial - ahhhh... sleep!

Post by Sundown » Sat Feb 02, 2008 8:44 pm

My husband travels frequently to San Francisco and many times complains he cannot tolerate using his CPAP due to stinky "old cigarette butt smell" in his hotel room.

He signed up for the Pur-Sleep Trial and used "Peace" and had a full eight-hours sleep!!! This is wonderful, because I worried when he wouldn't want to use his CPAP....after his last experience (before Pur-Sleep).

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND to all travelers!!! Thank you SleepGuy!!! Now I can rest easy when he is out of town, too! Plus I want to purchase some of your new "flavors"... they sound wonderful!!!

Thank you, again!

Greetings,

I am also part of the road warrior trial. I fly weekly and had over 125,000 miles in 2007. (Northwest sends me a Xmass card.)

Never used the product before.
I like the "clear" and it does indeed help adjust to a hotel room. I close my eyes and it seems more like home.

Now, what could be better?

First, how about a solid type of gel instead of the liquid oil? Passing through security at the airport requires that all liquids be a a single quart size ziplock bag. I have problems meeting this even without the pure sleep. A solid form could travel in my cpap bag and not have to be stuffed into the ziplock bag.

Also I would not have to take along the ceramic "dish" that the difuser pad sits in.

Give me a self contained solid dispenser, like an airwick or something, and you have a winner!

Best regards,

Joel Adams

I am also in the trial...and I have to say.....mmmmmmmmmmmmm

The first nite I couldn't get to sleep...but it was not a bad thing...I just kept thinking how good the Clear smelled.

I used it the next few nites and I love it.

Last nite the grandbaby spent the nite with me...I didn't wear the mask because I didn't want to scare her , but I put the Clear on the pad, I looked over at her and she was relaxing and went out like a lite! and slept all nite.

I will try the spice next but don't want to stop using the Clear!

Thanks again to SleepGuy!

Sarah

Joel, this is a very good idea but will take quite a bit in terms of research and development. In the meantime, what about pre-scenting some pads and sealing them in small zip-lock bags? That might also do the trick. You'll probably have to use a fair amount of essential oil because it will dissipate but you wouldn't need to take essential oil bottles with you through security.

Thank you very much. This is exactly the kind of feedback I find very helpful.

Scents

Post by PocketDragonFriend » Mon Feb 04, 2008 12:11 am

I'm just reading about this stuff. Sounds interesting. However, I have asthma. You never know what scent will trigger it. Have you had any feedback from folks with asthma?

Here's a recent thread about that very topic:

I am aware of only one or two situations where people had allergy-like issues (not asthma).

No problems setting off my asthma or allergies. Great to use.

This is just a thought and might not be practical -- but could you infuse the scents on some cotton pads (like those that the little alcohol pads that they have for injections) then seal them up in like that. These would be great for traveling as it would no muss no fuss -- just tear open the package and place near the vent. Would be great for those that want to sample a scent but don't want a full bottle. The possiblities are endless. They would take up less space than the "gel type" and until opened wouldn't evaporate.

Still may not be feasible.

I've been travelling with the PurSleep system for a long time now. For me, the best part is arriving home after 3-4 days in a "stinky" hotel room and NOT having my APAP smell bad.

I prefer to use Spice or Paradise when travelling. They seem to be a bit "stronger" than the other scents and for sure they offset the odors of the hotel rooms.

Sleep Guy, many many thanks for a WONDERFUL product!

Kajun

P.S.
I have no problem with the quart bag TSA requirement. I just zip up everything in a ziplock bag at home, store it in the side pocket of my APAP carry bag and off I go.
