Wanted - a couple of brave souls...

Post by derek » Sat May 07, 2005 12:48 pm

... who will act as "alpha" testers for MyEncore, my EncorePro data analysis software

MyEncore takes the data from the EncorePro database and displays it as a series of charts that summarize multi-download data. You can see the functions on the tabs below (I apologize for the fuzzy images - I used a lot of data compression to make them load quickly):

Image

It shows the data as daily performance plots, for example

or, as a function of treatment pressure using all of the data in the database:

Before you all stampede to try it , let me say
1) that I have not yet run the software against any database except my own,
2) that you should have a high-speed modem, because you may have to download some support software (.NET Framework) from Microsoft,
3) you should be just a little computer savvy since you will be a trial "guinea-pig". Also you should be a little adventurous at this stage.

That said, I think the software is pretty easy to use and robust! I've installed it on four computers without a problem.

Let's go slowly on this one. I'll release to to everyone as soon as I can verify that everything is ok. In the meantime, just a couple of people at a time...

PM me if you are interested.

Derek

Do you have any idea where I can download a copy of (.NET Framework) for free or at a reasonable cost? Microsoft wants $300.00 plus for an older version and $500.00 for a current version.

Little E,
I'm not sure what you are looking at, but let me assure you that the .NET Framework is free for download from Microsoft as a file called dotnetfx.exe. The latest version (Version 1.1.4322) can be downloaded from:

dotnetfx.exe from Microsoft

This is known as the redistributale form, and is what software developers include with their products. The file is 24Mbytes in size - so you really need a high speed connection to get it. Just download to your desktop and double-click on it to start the installastion. You can delete the file after the framework is installed.

Hi Derek,
I just downloaded the .NET framework. I have about a month's worth of data from my Bipap pro 2 in my PC. I am very knowledgable about PC's (I am a programmer, but not for PC's)

I would be very interested in acting as a guina pig for your new software.

John,
Being a REMStar Auto user, and writing the code principally for my own benefit, I have no idea how it will work with the BiPAP. I have not looked at what data is written to the database when a BiPAP is used. Some of the graphs will probably be meaningless. I'll be happy to work with you on it...

I've PM'ed you with the download instructions - give it a whirl and see.

Good luck,
derek

John,
I just noticed your BiPAP settings. The code, as written, only goes to a maximum pressure of 20 cm! (the max for the Auto) I will probably have to change that for BiPAP users. Don't be surprised if it doesn't work for you...
I'll take a look and get back to you. (That's what testing is all about )

Hi Derek,

I'd love to be one of your guniea pigs. The package you've created looks great.
Sincerely,

Good people.
I have just (8:10am Sunday) uploaded a new version (0.0.6) of MyEncore that increases the maximum pressure setting to 30 cm H20 to take care of BiPAP users. If you had problems... uninstall MyEncore (use Control Panel --> Add or Remove Programs) and download again.

Wader, I'll PM you...

Wow, really like the output it produces. I'm new to Remstar Auto but am very computer literate. Would love to help you to test the software.

Thanks

derek,
I would also like to try your software. Do you have room in the lab for one more?

Derek

Just downloaded software...everything went quickly and easily. Really like the graphics presentation of the data. Will test with my downloaded data daily.

Thanks

WOW :!:
Just loaded the software and it is great. Much easier to compare data for a selected period of time. I can now see from your graphs that I need to bump up my low pressure from 6 to 9. I had been suspecting this and now seeing it in graphic detail, I realize I was right.

Thanks so much for this great program.
Gilda

Derek--

I'm sure that you are inundated by volunteers, so have not bothered you. Is the software downloadable from somewhere yet? It appears that others have gotten it from somewhere, or are they your testers?

Best--
