Hi Pat! I appreciate your thoughts on this and have plenty of old inventory if you want to stick with that (just let me know). I tried not to change the smell much; I think people will not find the new versions much different from the originals. Spice and Clear are still plenty strong!kavanaugh1950 wrote:BRET, WHAT KIND OF CHANGES DID YOU MAKE TO CLEAR AND SPICE. I LOVED THEM THE WAY THEY WERE- IF IT AIN'T BROKE DON'T FIX IT. BY THEY WAY I REALLY LIKE THE SMELL OF DEEP- I DIDN'T CARE FOR IT THE FIRST COUPLE OF TIMES I USED IT BUT NOW I LOVE IT. I DON'T LIKE THE SMELL OF COMFORT, TOO EARTHY, BUT IT REALLY KNOCKS ME OUT FOR THE NIGHT, SO I TRIED MIXING IT WITH CREME AND ITS MUCH MORE TOLERABLE. PLEASE DON'T DILUTE THE PEPPERMINT SMELL OF CLEAR TOO MUCH OR DILUTE THE SPICE SMELL. SOME OF US NEED STRONGER SCENTS- I CAN'T SMELL THE WEAKER ONES. PAT

I can understand needing more scent, and needing less. There are so many of us with different needs that eventually there will be Ultimate Peppermint, Delicate Peppermint, or some such thing so that we can all benefit. : ) I still need to order the deluxe kit and try the creme and orange.kavanaugh1950 wrote:BRET, WHAT KIND OF CHANGES DID YOU MAKE TO CLEAR AND SPICE. What does deep smell like? You mentioned Comfort smelled earthy - like patchouli?
I found less drops equals less strong smell. Is this true for you?
Hi gasp! Comfort smells earthy as in herb/sage-like. If you have any marjoram in your spice cupboard, take a little wiff. That's it, along with some lavender. It's very nice but quite different from most of the others, which tend to have a bit of sweetness to them. It's not much like patchouli. Also, most EOs on the market labeled as "marjoram" are actually a variety of wild thyme that has a strong, camphor-like smell. With Comfort, we're talking about real sweet marjoram.gasp wrote:What does deep smell like? You mentioned Comfort smelled earthy - like patchouli?

Deep has a rather intense lime smell--citrus but without the sweet overtones you get with orange and tangerine. It's another one that changed a bit for the last bottling run. I found an excellent new lime EO and used less basil than in the first bottling run. I really like this one. It's my brother's favorite.
Fewer drops obviously means less smell but the nature of the specific oils also comes into play. Some are naturally intense and persistent, like peppermint and clove. Others are less so, like tangerine. Most are what I would consider "medium" intensity, like lavender, ylang ylang, orange, etc.
For everyone who has benefited from pur-sleep, please tell your RT and doctor about it! I just had a call from a customer who started two months ago and it has really helped him out. He sleeps through the night for the first time on cpap (six months) and doesn't take off his mask in the night anymore.

Isn't each oil list on the bottle?SleepGuy wrote:I think this is a great idea, one that will be implemented once time and resources permit. Thanks for the suggestion.SleepingBeauty wrote:I had another great night with the system and want to restate a suggestion to sleepguy.
When I went to choose a scent to "spend the night with" I picked up a bottle of "Deep" I couldn't remember what was in it. My computer was already shut down and I couldn't go to the website to see the fragrance combo in Deep. A listed description of all the oils (which I own from the first system) would be a really nice addition to your kits. I just went to your website and copied the description for each oil and printed a sheet for myself to keep in the box with the oils.
It would also be helpful for people who are pregnant (and need to avoid specific essential oils) or experience a reaction to any particular scent to have a list to refer to.

I have used deep and clear together, I actually like it. It smells a bit like a mint julip.kavanaugh1950 wrote:BRET, WHAT KIND OF CHANGES DID YOU MAKE TO CLEAR AND SPICE. I agree. I haven't seen Paradise mentioned much, but it has the most unique and pleasing scent. Unlike I anything I have ever smelled before and aptly named . It only comes with the deluxe starter pack, so most people might need to order the oil separately. It's a few dollars more than any other oil, well worth it though. I rotate through all of the oils, but Paradise is my go-to scent.sleepyred wrote:You might try the paradise as well
The bottles are labeled, but with the semi-abstract name. Like SleepingBeauty, I printed out a description of the oils from the web site and wrote down the oil contents. I keep the cheat sheet tacked on the wall. But after a while, I rarely had to refer to it and could equate the name to the actual scent.denise1768 wrote:Isn't each oil list on the bottle?
For those that are an*l retentive like me, I used a CD marker to write the name of each oil on a separate pad. One oil, one pad.

SleepGuy,
Is there any natural oil out there with a scent like "Summer Rain"? I am one of those crazy people that run the AC and keep the window open in bedroom for fresh air .
And what about a "Ocean Beach"? Maybe this one should smell like coconut butter from suntan lotion .

Excellent! I want your entire kit including wall chart : ) Thanks for the picture so I can duplicate. I look forward to trying Paradise.SithLord wrote:I agree. cpap.com only sells a subset of what's available directly from Pur-Sleep at http://www.pur-sleep.com.gasp wrote:Thanks! Would you please let me know the link to where I can buy the deluxe kit? All I can find on cpap.com is the travel bag.
Since you already have a diffuser, you don't need to buy a whole new kit. Just order the individual bottles of oils that you want to try from URL above. Select Products at top, then Essential Oils. You might want to buy extra pads if you do ($5 for 4).
But for new users who want to try all scents, the Deluxe Starter Pack ($60) which includes all flavors is a better deal than buying a Basic Pack ($30) and the other six oils/pads separately ($55). For the math challenged, that's a $25 discount .

I didn't know I was math challenged but that cheat sheet on your ugly wall shows 9 flavors and you only show 8 bottles ... I think your'e holding out on us
President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.
As part of my chromosome makeup and no significant other, I don't have much use for the Rose oil . Besides, 8 bottles is Monk-ish even. lol.DreamStalker wrote:I didn't know I was math challenged but that cheat sheet on your ugly wall shows 9 flavors and you only show 8 bottles ...
Not to say though I wouldn't put it in rotation if I ever have the former again .

Hi Jeff. Thanks for posting your pictures--very good ideas. I really like the idea of labeling the pads (didn't think of that!). I'm going to mark my pads tonight--I keep having to smell them to remember which is which.SithLord wrote:SleepGuy,

As for your questions, I am not familiar with either of the fragrances you mentioned. They're certainly both "custom" artificial fragrances. Unfortunately, there aren't natural aromatic oils that smell either like that after-rain smell or coconut. In the puraira business we've had a natural, after-rain "flavor" in development (for the catalytic effusion lamp), but that's a fairly challenging smell to replicate using natural oils, very few of which would be on the FDA GRAS list. That doesn't mean that they're not safe but the pur-sleep product line is limited to those aromatics.
Thanks again for your feedback.

Sorry to mislead you. These aren't any real names of scents, I just made them up for the desired imagery . Wanted to know if anything close to these real-world scents were available in natural oils (which you kindly answered).SleepGuy wrote:As for your questions, I am not familiar with either of the fragrances you mentioned.
As a kid on vacation at a run down rented beach house, I remember easily falling asleep at night. That's if I didn't get sun burned .
