Good Morning All:
I hope everyone either slept well or, had a good day, depending on which side of the world you are.
So, now that things have settled down, let's ALL retract our claws; swallow, rather than spit, our venom; keep our hissy fits to ourselves; toughen our skin just a little; keep our bar-b-que stained fingers off the "delete spam" button (unless it really is porn or viagra advertising, etc.) and play nice.
SAG noted several quotations in several of his posts. So, in that vein, I have one to offer. I don't know who said it, but the quotation is: "There are three things in life that are important -be kind, be kind, and be kind."
And before any of you feel the need to say it, all of the above includes all of us, me as well.
Although painful, this has been a great thread with at least one significant outcome -everyone gets to have their say, whether we like what they say or not.
I'm not going to post in this thread again (the applause is deafening!!!); anyone wanting to take a last bash or have the last word should dive right in.

It's not quite as informative as this forum, but at least you don't have to sift through cussing, insults, mud-slinging, ego maniacs, name-calling, and opinion bashing to get to the information you need. Freedom of speech should be tapered with civility and common courtesy--something adults should be able to do more than it's done here.
SleepyDave aka StillAnotherGuest aka DeltaDave is no longer a moderator for ApneaSupport Forum (he was never an admin/moderator for the ASAA mainsite.) Any of his actions here were his own, and not as a representative of the ASAA.

Well I'm soo glad you cleared all that up -hypocrite! Oh we got you pegged here bud. Go read your OWN insulting comments as Admin over on your own site about Johnny and his business practices you made in that Pur-Sleep thread.Mikesus wrote:WearyOne wrote:SAG, are you really a modorator at sleepapnea, org?

Just go to Search there and search for posts made by Author "Mike" (the Site Admin) and read them going right on down the line, the above link should get you close. You proceed to reem him for his selling practices and in fact I don't think he ever sold a single item from Pur-Sleep. All you seen was an item listed with ZERO quantity for Sale. The product was pulled before it ever got sold from him. So your insinuations are completely false.
Then:
Glad you are so concerned about our welfare Mike, but it looks more like a vendetta to me.Daniel,
What bothers me even more is that the store in question has quite the following, and instead of doing the right thing and checking out whether or not the claim made were legit, they started selling it immediately. Then again this is the same store that ignores federal legend and sells a lot of items that require a prescription, without one. (i.e. masks, and they will substitute any machine for a CPAP prescription.)
Additionally, this is the same forum where the admin portrayed himself as an apnea sufferer, (putting a list of equipment in his signature) and when taken to task on it, the answer was, "Oh that was just for testing." Despite the fact that he left it that way for more than a year! IMHO this lack of respect for the law, and for the patient will lead to their demise. With reckless practices like these, its only a matter of time before the authorities get wind of it, and take them to task. Of course they say they are doing this for the "good" of the apnea community, but I would dare say that as soon as that forum doesn't bring them "customers" it will be shut down. In the meantime, we can only hope that no one gets hurt in the process.
FYI: Ted the "titrator" is ForumAdmin here. I happen to know Ted going back many years even before you were around. Ted Nugent does have OSA and has used numerous machines and shared his experience with us here and other sites over those same years. I have no doubts in my mind he has OSA and does product testing with his new employer. But I knew Ted even before then. So again, another FALSE accusation from the ASAA Site Admin.
And that is not the only one, you continue attacking their principals and practices. I don't think you will ever be happy until you know for sure we are paying 2-3 times MORE for our therapy than we do now.
All you have to do is read into it to understand what I'm talking about, but its there in black and white, that is if he doesn't run back before you can and "modify" them (I already printed them to PDF). I'd give you the exact post, but your website keeps crashing with an error about every other search.
I have been on this board since the day it started. I have NEVER once EVER seen Johnny make even the slightest negative comment about anyone much less the slanderist remarks you have about him over on that public supported site.
He offers this site free to anyone, no strings attached, no asking for donations needed, hell he even lets you come post here.
No he doesn't have a "donation" card in every CPAP machine manual being sold for donations to keep his propaganda machine going either. What did ole SleepyDave (aka SAG) do burn his bridges over there too? For some reason, that doesn't really surprise me.
man I tell ya, the slime balls are coming out of the woodwork lately, must be a full moon or something

Thanks for clearing that up, Mike, but most of us figured out that no way could SAG act like that in an "official" capacity.Mikesus wrote:

I've been trying very hard to stay out of this obnoxious thread, but there are a couple of things I don't understand. Now that SAG's identity has been revealed, I feel free to ask a question or two.
1) Does anyone here realize that he is one of the most experienced and helpful people on any apnea forum?
2) He clicked the "Delete Spam" button on some posts, like I've done 100 times. Was he exercising some God-like power, or just a functionality that is available to every user of the forum?
3) Do the forum moderators not have the ability to deny such a deletion? If I were to choose to delete every post here, do Ted and Johnny not have the ability to prevent that? I would expect they do ...
Although I have often pined for more moderation here (in all senses of that term), Johnny's statement on this matter was masterful and compelling. Wikipedia initially failed because of the use of moderators and subject experts. The Goodman's are to be applauded for their vision in providing this forum, but aren't some of you being a bit hard on SAG, given that the software appears to allow what he did? I'd just hate to lose his expertise here, regardless of how outraged some of you are at his actions.
Is there any chance to let this thread die, or is it just going to have to burn out? Shall I invoke Godwin's Law? Would that help?

Due to the perhaps unintentional “tongue-in-cheek” nature of your reply, I would like to reply tongue in cheek:
Isn’t that like shooting someone with one of my guns and saying I was just using a functionality of my gun that was available to me(the user)? LOL
But SERIOUSLY, it’s a “Delete Spam” button”, not a “Censorship Button”
...and Sleepy Delta Dave was TOTALLY wrong to use it. Period.

IMHO, you left out the phrase IMHO.But SERIOUSLY, it’s a “Delete Spam” button”, not a “Censorship Button”

IMHO, your gun analogy is flawed. Most guns have safety devices, similar to a PHP BBS having the ability to moderate (prevent) deletions. I am not saying that I support SAG deleting posts: I'm saying that if that functionality is allowed by the software, it will be used. Just like with guns.
No offense or disrespect intended to you, Vader: you are entitled to your opinion, and I respect it. I just disagree with it. Hopefully I have done so in a civil fashion.

Like i said, the gun analogy was somewhat tongue in cheek, but hey, no harm done. Nobody died, we just disagree.
