How well did you sleep and how well did you feel? Any data on leaks?hayeswildrick wrote:........
With a chin cup my AHI has been running about 1.8. Without the cup it soared to between 3.9 and 4.5!
So, it's back to using the mask as designed for me.

Hi,
I'm new to all this but I've been learning a great deal from the folks here. I've been using CPAP for just under a month and have been fully compliant but I'm having a couple of problems. I'm using the Breeze at the moment and I haven't had any problem sleeping with it and now that I've switched to the large pillows it's more comfortable and I haven't had much leaking.
I'm not feeling any better though, in fact some days I feel worse than before. I'm not snoring and my wife is grateful so there's that. I don't have any data because the DME gave me a basic model but I will be upgrading. I seem to wake up every night around 4 and have trouble getting back to sleep. I am certain at this point that I'm (at least sometimes - like last night) breathing through my mouth. I am not thrilled by the idea of taping my lips shut. I'm considering trying the denture cream idea that I've read about but I'm also thinking about a full mask. The problem is that I know from wearing respirators in my job that it will be very hard to fit one and I will not be comfortable in it for very long. Given this situation the Hybrid seems like a good idea. I've read mixed reviews but still think I'd like to try it. I just watched the intro video to get an idea how it is fitted and I see that it seals on the upper lip below the nose. Now the question that this long winded post is leading to. I have a moustache. Will I be able to get a seal? Anybody out there have any experience using the Hybrid with a moustache?
As usual, any and all comments and advice are welcome. Thanks!

I have a moustache ... and then some. I don't have a problem sealing the oral cushion. My problem is generally keeping the pillows sealed all night long ... but you should be aware that everyone is different
President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.

I've been using the hybrid, and I have a goatee. I have no problem getting a good seal...keeping a good seal through the night is another thing, but that is more a problem with turning over and such, not facial hair.
My two cents is that, don't worry about the moustache bothering prohibiting a seal.

All I know is that I get better numbers with any nasal mask (with tape) than I do with either my ComfortFull 2 or my Hybrid.
The last time I used the Hybrid (without chin flap) the mouthpiece itself pulled out from the slot on the shell during the night. I didn't try to figure out what the problem was at the time that the massive leak started, but just put on my ComfortFull 2 and went back to sleep.
I don't know if I just didn't have the mouthpiece inserted fully or if this is going to be an ongoing problem caused by removing the chin flap. I haven't used it since that night but will try it again one of these nights.

If you want to try the Hybrid again, this shouldn't be an ongoing problem. Several of us on this forum have used the Hybrid without chin flap for some months (8 months for me) without this problem.OwlCreekObserver wrote:......................

Also there is nothing wrong with mouth tape and a nasal mask if you are getting good therapy.
As happy as I have been to get the Hybrid, the ideal interface has yet to be designed and produced. Hopefully it comes soon.

Anyone have a clip for a Hybrid?
Lost mine in a hotel room in Paris and am in a panic.
I love my Hybrid but hate the headgear!

By all means, if it works for you then keep the chinflap. In my case the chinflap caused a bad rash under my chin, made me feel very hot and felt quite confining. Fortunately cutting off the chinflap resolved all of these issues.neverbetter wrote:I feel like the chinflap sort of holds everything in place so nothing leaks.............. I still feel like I need a chinflap.

Does this (or any hybrid) seal properly with facial hair?
Hi,
I'm contemplating a hybrid (I currently use nasal pillows with a taped mouth), but it occurred to me it doesn't look like I could get any kind of seal with a beard and moustache.
Am I right? Should I not even bother?
Not ready to shave...
