I had one on the 9th of February. I got to felling so good about 10 days after the surgery I over did it and had two serious nose bleeds that cost me over $1500. (I don't have insurance)

My advice? TAKE IT EASY for LONGER than you think you need to. I'm serious. If you don't do a thing for three weeks you will probably be OK. I got my nose to bleeding by lifting something heavy. Big mistake.

Don't rush it and you'll be fine.

Sharon, I would like to wish you all the best. May I suggest, as a veteran of many surgeries, that you take Chapstick to the hospital for those dry lips? Other than that:

You will not need luck, but I'm wishing you luck anyway!

Sharon,

I had the surgery. There was only minor discomfort afterwards. I got a straighter beak in the process.

Don't lose sleep over this. If you can handle CPAP, well...

All my best,

Rick

Wake me up when this is over...

Speedy recovery and do the saline nasal flushes (as prescribed by your doctor) religiously!!!!

Saline flushes will really help the healing to go better and are not a bad habit to get into in general.

I had a septoplasty (and a BUNCH of other related stuff) done a few years ago. It was VERY GOOD decision.
Recovery was not as painful as I expected, but it was more "uncomfortable" for longer than I expected.

No matter how you are treating your apnea, it helps to get your nose working. You may have to get retitrated to a lower pressure after you recover.....thats a good thing.

Good luck!!

Had it done also had a large 4th of July gathering one week later, had discomfort the first couple days, had to sleep in my living room chair the first nite because of bleeding if I laid down, other than the first couple days of discomfort wasn't bad, felt an improvement, but still would get congested allergy seasons. Did I think it was worth it? yes I really saw some difference afterwards. Please listen to your Dr as far as what you should do, and in no time you will be breathing air thru your new nose and wonder why you waited so long.
