OK, since you keep referring to the stats, here they are. This just happened. I put on the old N30i piece and went to sleep. I just woke up again with my right nostril restricted and it woke me up. Sorry no line charts as there aren't any. Latest version of OSCAR.

It would help a lot to understand more about what makes you take the mask off. You say the mask isn't really the problem; instead "I just get claustrophobic from breathing rate." Can you say more about what the feeling you get is like? For example, do you wake up and start breathing faster and then feel a bit panicked? Or ... ?

And it truly would be helpful to see some graphs, because that might allow people here to identify something that happens right before those "claustrophobic" feelings. Ideally you could sign up for SleepHQ so we can zoom on on the key moments.

You have some serious sleep issues, and it'd be great if we could help you. For that, we could use a little more information from you.
Yes that's claustrophobia. I wake up and feel restricted in exhaling. Anxiety. I posted my stats and they show nothing.

daBee started a new thread at - https://www.apneaboard.com/forums/Threa ... rent-masks

She's being told to get a bilevel, and they are excited about her CAs. I'm not sure, but she may have been awake during those "CAs". Maybe some member here wants to look at the one OSCAR chart she posted over there.

I note she's using straight CPAP with EPR 3.

daBee, if you're still reading this, you would be better off letting the people here advise you. I have a long experience with both forums and know you get better help here.
I'm a he. And I didn't start that thread at all.

daBee, thanks for posting what you have available from Oscar. Unfortunately all it is showing are your summary data. I'm not sure why that is, but do make sure you have the SD card well-seated in the slot when you return it to the machine.

And thanks for saying more about what you are experiencing when you take the mask off. Zonker gave you some excellent advice about how to reduce the anxiety you feel when you wake up. Have you had a chance to give it a try?

One reason I'm so interested in seeing your graphs is that I'm wondering what happens right before you wake up with a need to get the mask off. For example, did you just have an obstructive event? Or maybe a bunch of flow limitations? A big leak? A cough or hiccup?

If you don't want to mess with Oscar further, you can just sign up for free with SleepHQ and post a link. Does that seem feasible? (Chicago Granny provided the link to Sleep HQ that would help you get set up there.)

Hi there. Thanks for posting.

I have no problem posting relevant information nor dealing with OSCAR. I'm a software developer for over 40 years. They asked for my data and I posted them. I knew there was nothing in them because I had a 0.0 AHI. So there's nothing showing up in the data, nor the charts, nor the summaries. There is no data probably because nothing showed up. And yes the card was properly inserted. I won't be signing up for online posting. Like I continue to tell people, is that breathing through that nasal mask (before the pillow mask which is much worse) is restricted. Exhaling is difficult. Yes I have modified my tested optimized MSLT pressures and the release on exhale pressure. I have checked them many times.

I simply wanted to see if anybody that knew of this issue, would know if a change of mask would help. It's 1:30 am right now and I'm sitting at my desk because I can't sleep. Maybe it's just what I'm going through right now that wakes me up, but I do feel highly restricted when I feel the need to take the mask off. I really can't stand this thing. It's been 7 years with multiple tests, trials, masks, temperatures, pressures, settings, sleep instructions, CBT, you name it.

How'd that full-face mask work out?

Or you could go crazy with Total Face Mask.

Or do a Cottle Maneuver. If that helps try Breathe-Rite strips under mask de jour.

I'm measured severe sleep apnea. I've been for 4 tests including multiple latency.
Normally I'd say let's see those detailed results but I've retired and frankly DFFLI.

Well 8 cm H2O is what the MSLT said I should be using.
No such thing.

And leave it there all night long. Resmed machines only record your breathing, breath by breath if the SD is in the machine when you're using it

The machine will record all you breaths even if none of them is interrupted.
In the example you posted your AHI was 1.6
You used the machine from 03:44 to 04:59 - 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Machine might have still been writing to the card and yanked too early.

Well, they did test me for optimal pressure during an MSLT. Regardless that's what I was using before the test anyway. I'm using that now.

What full face mask? I've never said anything about a full face mask. I don't own one, never tried one. I chose nasl thinking it was suitable and the remedial information I have says nasal masks are the way to go.
