First, my PSA: if you are going to stick ointment in your eye, wash your hands well with warm water and soap while singing your ABCs, and use sterile ointment. You only get one pair of eyes, and ointment can help bacteria stick around longer in your eye. An eye infection is uncomfortable at the least.
