have only been on the machine for about a week now in during the night my nose itches and either have to to remove mask ormove it over to take care of it and then that starts mask to start leaking so have to shut it off to get mask sealed and cpap back on and going cause of the forced air doc has me on a setting of 15 witch is high compared to what i have read everyone else does any ideas
itchy nose
Just pull the mask straight out, do your scratchin and then let the mask reseal itself..... no need to take the whole thing off or turn off the cpap... your headgear shouldn't be on that tight.
You have cats or dogs where animal hair could get into the hose/mask/humidifier chambers?? Turn your machine on and let it run a few minutes before you ever mask up.

Try rubbing that area on your face (nose, etc.) BEFORE you put the mask on. It tends to have a de-sensitizing effect.

I'm with bouziden. I don't have any cats or dogs but shortly after I've put on my mask, my nose starts itching. It's like the air makes me itch. I do like Lyza recommends, just pull the mask out, scratch and let it re-seal. I've never tried rubbing my face like Wulfman suggests so I'll try that tonight, if I remember.

Me too
I experience the same thing. The itching is on the outside of my nose and not a result of fiber or hair. I don't have a heater or humidifier set up, and don't plan on getting one since I don't have any dry nose issues.
Suspect the itching is a result of the fact that I have air swirling around the nose skin a lot and eventually trips the itch trigger.

That's probably as good an explanation as I've heard.Hoganflagle wrote:I experience the same thing. The itching is on the outside of my nose and not a result of fiber or hair. I don't have a heater or humidifier set up, and don't plan on getting one since I don't have any dry nose issues.

That's why de-sensitizing that area works for me......cause if I don't, I'll have to shortly.
