Most of those dying are those with underlying conditions. It's not like this virus is killing mostly healthy people. It is 99% killing unhealthy people. People with underlying conditions. Shouldn't we be worried about all the other things? Like why we have so many sick people to begin with? Why does diabetes kill millions of people a year and we rarely talk about it. The human species is becoming more and more unhealthy. I mean look at Mexico, number one killer there is diabetes. Most people don't know about that though. And diabetes indirectly kills so many more via heart diseases, cancer, etc. Diabetes and it's related diseases is the most preventable too. Do we talk about Vitamin D being very important against fighting the virus, no. Why not? Why do we not talk about people taking better care of their own health?

Per CDC, deaths are 12 times higher in those with underlying conditions. Because it is very unlikely there will ever be a vaccine doesn't that mean everyone will eventually get this virus. Seems like the most important thing to worry about is improving your immune system via a healthy lifestyle. If you're healthy then you'll be more asymptomatic and less likely to spread it to begin with. Basically the virus would die out pretty quickly if everyone didn't have underlying conditions. It's spreading so fast because so many people were already sick.

I hope to God that you guys who want to make excuses for not using some common sense don't learn this lesson the hard way when one of your healthy loved ones beats the odds and dies from it.

If a person has health issues that prohibit using some common sense then they shouldn't be out and about anyway unless they have all their affairs in order.
But go ahead...the herd needs to be culled anyway.

Tell your excuses to someone who lost someone close to them that was health (or hell, even unhealthy) ...I am sure it will make them feel a lot better.

The virus hurts people it does not kill. Many will suffer from the damage of the virus for the rest of their lives. Concentrating only on the deaths is ignoring much of the damage to organ systems that are weakened and that will fail in time, causing great misery for years to come. Many of the people you see leaving the hospital will never be the same. They are happy to have survived because life is precious, but their quality of life is not what it was.

Fallacies all. There is data that asymptomatic people may be super-spreaders and thereby kill, maim, and debilitate those around them, including those who die despite their having NO significant comorbidities. It also appears that asymptomatic people may still be damaged by the virus in ways not immediately perceived, and some may eventually die or become debilitated months or years later because of it. It's too early to know the complete details of how people are affected.

Try not to confuse the statements about which conditions increase risks across population as if that means those without those conditions are impervious. That is a misinterpretation and misrepresentation of the science. And in this case your misunderstandings can kill others if they fall for what you say.

Let's be careful out there. Denial kills. Embrace the reality of the situation in order to be of benefit to the humans around you.

Wear a mask. If you can't, stay home. It's called love.

Yes, people in the US already die in great numbers of many preventable diseases. But how many of those are infectious?
Yes, they have the right to choose how they live. But I only accept that entitlement right up until it starts infringing on my right to life.

Innocently, but not correctly, the younger individuals are saying, Well, if I get infected, the chances are that I won't even have any symptoms. So who cares? That's a big mistake -- because by allowing yourself to get infected or not caring if you do get infected, you are propagating a pandemic. You get infected and have no symptoms, but the chances are that you're going to infect someone else who will then infect someone else. Then, someone who's vulnerable to severe consequences will get infected. That could be somebody's father, mother, or grandmother. It could be a sick child who's immunodeficient. It could be a woman who's on chemotherapy for breast cancer. All of a sudden, you're not operating in a vacuum. You're part of the problem as opposed to being part of the solution. So somehow, we've got to keep getting that message across. I don't mean that in the sense of blaming anybody, because these are people who are doing this innocently and inadvertently.

I do wear a mask. But my point was still missed. A vaccine seems very unlikely since there has never been a coronavirus vaccine. With that given it seems likely that everyone will eventually get it. So with that in mind why does no one talk about immune health? We talk about not getting it, etc, but we never talk about why are so many people sick to begin with. The world like to ignore why so many people are overweight, have diabetes, etc.

Evidently, we also have one of those. We have the only governor to test positive for COVID 19, and he still refuses to issue a state wide mask mandate. The two largest cities in the state have done so as have all of the major retail stores. I have an appointment to have my faulty hearing aid repaired and was informed I needed to wear a mask while there. I had planned on doing so without being told.

I just want to take all those governors and our ultimate non illustrious leader and put them in a small room together...all without masks and pump covid virus laden air into it and tell them "you are going to get the virus anyway....let's just get it over with right now" "it won't hurt you...you will just have the sniffles and go home and be just fine in a couple of days"
