We have been aware of asymptomatic carriers for around a hundred years--give or take)

"Despite appearing perfectly healthy, it is estimated that Mary infected about 50 people before she was quarantined."
These people are currently referred to a "super spreaders", and identifying them is only the first step.

Generally I'm against it. Except when it comes from Zonker... then it's pretty funny.

I believe that may be the post.palerider wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2020 9:18 amI think the phrase you were looking for was "utter [bleeped] from an absolute idiot"Dog Slobber wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2020 7:58 amYour point wasn't missed, it was wrong.
Asymptomatic people are not less likely to spread it.
But we are all idiots to one degree or another. Although I personally find that being an absolute idiot often takes concentrated effort and real focus and energy on my part, and frankly I'm not always up to it.
And, eh, I say don't worry about people finding what you say funny, Zonker. I think it's often the most respected way to make points click and stick.

Yes, thank you to the blithering covidiots out there that refused, *AND STILL REFUSE* to believe this is something other than a 'bleeding heart liberal hoax'. Covidiots.

Thank you, edited

The sad thing is that they're harming others, not just themselves.
However, I fully support their right to all gather together and infect each other, repeatedly, just stay away from normal people.

This link is a question and answer document by Dr. Kandeel Judge who is treating COVID-19 patients in a Sacremento hospital. She addresses urban legends in a humorous way.

i would agree BUT they DON'T stay away from "normal" people. these covidiots will mingle with others who can easily pick up this foul disease.
if you could just get them to isolate....

Anyone else watching their respiratory rate?
A couple in our neighborhood were hospitalized this week. The husband has pneumonia in one lung and has tested positive for COVID-19. The wife has a fever and other symptoms and is being tested for COVID.
Gramps was in their garden with the husband four days ago. Since they were outside and observing social distancing, Gramps thinks he wasn't exposed. But, the neighbor did get close enough to pass three tomatoes to Gramps.
After the news today, Gramps and I discussed checking our median respiratory rates (OSCAR) every morning. We have read that an increase might be an early warning sign of a COVID infection. (We also have been checking our RHR daily with our FitBits.)
What do you think about RR monitoring and COVID?

I think a pulse oximeter is probably the best diagnostic tool, especially for those without lung disease or muscle weakness. An abnormal reading should prompt immediate attention. People with COVID-19 can have low oxygen saturation while not showing the normal signs of distress.
