Resmed airfit P30i nose pillow irritation

Post by milboltnut » Fri May 08, 2020 10:23 am

Any body have any idea how to make this pillow more comfortable? It's really irritating my septum. I put antibiotic cream on my nose and pillow..It works for most of the night. Guess I can reapply it in the middle of the night again.

did a goggle search for "nasal cpap pillow lubricant"

And found an old thread from this site..seems like it's easier to fin archive threads on forums like these...with google

viewtopic/t71122/Whats-the-best-lube-fo ... llows.html

I happened to have Lansinoh nipple cream for nursing mothers. Maybe someone has something else, knowing me, it won't be that much of an improvement.

Use a little Lanisoh. It stays on way better than antibio creams.

Use Lansinoh until your nose toughens up. About all you can do.
Maybe switch out masks to give it a break, then back to Lansinoh and time.
You will get there. :)

I was inquiring this morning where I got my initial equipment for a full face mask and nose mask . The gal told me I have to wait there months from the time I got my equipment from her to get a different set up.... The insurance company won't cover it. Hopefully the Lansinoh will get me by long enough. Didn't think about getting sick and needing a full mask, and dealing with congestion. The girl that gave me my machine basically set my minimum pressure, gave me a starter kit, had me sign the paper work, and said ok you're done. I really appreciate this forum..... you guys are a great help !

I have a company that's mail order... just got off the phone with a few minutes ago. Ordered a F20 mask kit for september, have to wait six months for that. But next month I get the N20 mask kit that you can use the P30's pillows on too.

When I started using the P10 my right nare on the septum side got very sore.
I started using the Lansinoh.
To help get me through the worst of the first, I cut a small piece of micropore tape and wrapped it over the septum as a shield.
It finally toughened up to the point I could go commando.

This apnea therapy sometimes makes us go the extra mile. :D
It is sooo worth it.

Keep grinding.
It will get better.

The thing between the holes is the septum.
The holes are the nares.

really... I would have never thought of putting tape on the septum, that's where it's getting sore. Thank you ! Probably didn't have to order the N20 mask....by the time I get it.... I'll be use to the P30i.

Sorry i just need to clarify.....so one piece of the micropore tape in between the 2 nostrils then? Wouldnt it be....painful to remove

I am not trolling, literally trying to figure out how to try it tonight....

That is where the Lansinoh helps. Put a small amount on the sore area and leave just enough without for the micropore tape to adhere to. It is kind of an art. :D

JPB

The mask will tend to keep the tape in place.

Oh, trim the nose hairs. :D
