My Airsense 10 Autoset leaked water
Re: My Airsense 10 Autoset leaked water
i don't believe u can overfill the airsense 10 if u r filling it by opening it; the high water level is level with the case split.
i've had 2 out of 2 water reservoirs leak. mine leaked from between the bottom metal plate of the machine and the plastic. if u look closely, there is a thin clear gasket in there. i don't believe this gasket is easily changed.
my earlier cpap's had gasket seals around the bottom. later machines had bonded metal plates. this the first machine ive owned that leaked water (well...the hu300 humidifier plastic cracked after several years.
when u use this, put it inside something to protect the surroundings from leaking water. then put something inside there to set the machine on to keep the water out of it. (i use a plastic storage box lid inverted and set a board inside to keep the machine above the water). the one that is leaking now will have most of the water pool inside the containment. it doesn't matter if i fill to the top line or the bottom line, the results is the same. i had no idea it was that bad. just filling the reservoir and setting it down doesn't show a leak.

Re: My Airsense 10 Autoset leaked water
Only fill to the fill line.
It is clearly marked in the tub, sometimes with a neat, but thin line.
If you cannot see the line, get someone to find it for you and bolden the line with a Sharpie.
Higher than that will result in bad outcomes.
I always fill my tank slightly LOWER than the line, just to be safe.

Humidifier chamber for an Airsense 10 is $22 on Amazon.jajvirta wrote: ↑Tue Aug 11, 2015 6:56 amThat's exactly what I did already.chunkyfrog wrote:At this point, I would determine if the tank was over-filled or is defective.
Empty it, and dry it out. Refill with water, but to somewhere below the fill line.
Keep the tank LEVEL. Observe if water continues to come out.
If water comes out, mark the leaky place with a sharpie or eyeliner.
It sounds like the problem is NOT the machine--insist on a new tank.
But the problem was that Airsense 10 Autoset is currently only for experimental use at our clinic so they just don't have any spare parts.
Let's see what they say when I get a contacted again.

That "clinic" is a poor excuse for whatever they claim to be.
The machine has been out for over 5 years

Yep...it's an old thread with a still current problem. I have had 2 water chambers develop leaks but in both instances it was after trauma to the chamber. One I just dropped on to the hardwood floor by the bed and the other it flew out of my hands (long story) across the room onto the hardwood floor.

- I don't use distilled water, just tap.
- Dump the water every night, rinse and refill.
- Wash with hot soapy water (Dawn) every 3 weeks or so.
- I don't have any mineral buildup, I've soaked it in a 50% lemon juice / water maybe 3 or 4 times since I got it.

Just wondering if it bounced off Mr. Pugsy first?

Re: My Airsense 10 Autoset leaked water

Over 10 years of cpap use and 2 water chambers within 6 months of each other bit the dust due to my clumsiness.
Since both instances were related to my deciding to take the chambers out and wash them.....I have since decided they don't need to be washed.

It both instances the plastic looked fine though. It was the seal that failed despite it looking okay. I suspect that seal is fairly fragile and maybe some of the failures are related to maybe bumping the chamber against something and not realizing it.

Don't "accidentally" throw it across the room... Do you need me to send you a padded OtterBox with the appropriate foam cutout for transportation of the delicate item in question?Pugsy wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2020 11:56 am![]()
No but Mr Pugsy was sitting in his recliner laughing his ass off when it went flying by him and his words were "what the hell are you doing".

It rarely gets washed now and when it does it washed, I wrap it in swaddling towels to transport to the sink and hold it close to me like a baby. I don't trust the aliens in my house to tear it out of my hands and throw it across the room.

The aliens ripped it from my secure little hands.

How did you fair with the bad weather last night? Parts around here are still without power due to some winds and tornadoes but fortunately all I have to do is pick up some downed tree limbs later once this crap moves on out.
It's snowing right now. 60 degrees yesterday and bad storms and tornadoes and 20 degrees today with snow, ice and sleet.
Wonderful weather.

Did ok.. Had a couple (brief) tornado warnings pointed at the house, one that was on the ground south of Fort Worth, but fortunately, they weren't determined, lost interest and dissipated, maby skywarn nets were spun up around 6-7pmish when things got 'exciting'Pugsy wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2020 1:36 pmThe aliens ripped it from my secure little hands.![]()

The closest I came to 'trouble' was having to scrape ice off the windshield this morning.
