When I received my AirSense 10, my DME provided me with an extra humidifier tank.

I thought that was unusual, and asked why. She indicated those are typically the first thing that requires replacing. She indicated that often it is because they are removed, moved about, and dropped.

It's always good to have a spare or two on hand in case the chamber suddenly develops a leak (as they are unfortunately known to do).

Yep...always good to have a spare chamber.
I dropped mine one Friday night a few months ago when topping it off. Only fell about 2 feet onto the hardwood floor and while I couldn't see any cracks or whatever I immediately went and did the fill test and put it on a paper towel to see if it leaked and it sure did. Wasn't massive or fast but fast enough to know I couldn't use it that night. Subsequent attempts to repair and make it usable again were dismal failures and I decided not worth the effort.

Fortunately I had a spare handy and plugged it right in.
Weekend night...no way I could get to the DME until Monday so that Friday night I got on Amazon and ordered another spare and had it by Sunday afternoon....I love Amazon Prime and making use of my yearly fee for it every chance I get.
I couldn't have used my insurance and DME for it anyway as the spare that I had on hand was just got 1 month prior to my dropping the first one. Now if it had been past my replacement allowance period I would probably have thought harder about just waiting until the first of the week and getting another from my DME.

Well, here I am in 2018 in Australia, and I am on my 4th leaking canister in 12 months. Although I am getting the replacement canisters free of charge, the inconvenience and unreliability of the product is driving me crazy. Seems like this is a common problem - have new batches solved it? My canisters appear to leak in the same place everyone else has noted - the seal between the plastic and metal plate. My first 3 canisters lasted around 6-8 weeks, the last one managed to see 6 months, and I thought the issue was solved. Spoke too soon... :(

I was expecting the worst and held my breath waiting for my tank to leak.

But it's been almost 14 months and not a drop has leaked out.

I hope I don't jinx myself by saying that !

My tank is three years old this month and has never leaked. I think they just had a bad batch of tanks a couple years ago.

Hi folks. I’m a ‘newby’ on this site but, I reckon my Airsense 10 floods, because the silicone rubber docking pads are squashed out of shape, when the reservoir is returned after filling. The pads can be deformed, by sliding the reservoir in too quickly, or at a slight angle. My remedy has been to manipulate the docking pads using my fingers to re-shape & pull docking pads gently forward, so the pads are more firmly sealed with reservoir. Nothing wrong with my reservoir seams, & my machine always level, when it floods. Hope this helps, as it is quite distressing waking up in middle of night to find reservoir nearly empty & bedside table flooded. Happy New Year CPAP Buddies!

Have a tank here in leaking it's only 10 days of use not dropped or miss handled.

It doesn’t take much, just a slight tap on the edge of the table/sink and the glue seal breaks it’s bond and presto, you’ve got a leak. I’m on my third tank. Luckily they are not expensive but it’s a poor design and it gets frustrating.

I have had mine for a few years. The chambers leak after a week or two. The longest i have had a chamber that didn’t work is 1 month. I have 2 resumed machines. The machines are fine. Buying chambers from amazon, eBay or the medical supply company works about the same. The ones that are dishwasher safe work longer than the cheaper ones. Since I haven’t owned my machine longer than 5 years, they wont give me a new one. I am considering a whole different machine... but someone said the dream station has other issues.

In just short of five years, I have accumulated several tanks.
None have leaked--I just let the DME get me a new one about once a year.
(Letting them make a living)
I probably have a couple hiding someplace around here.
I'll go look.
Edit: I found one.

Seems like it'd be a good idea to figure out what you're doing wrong.

My aircurve tank leaks a drop or two at the back when I fill it up. Right where the hinge is. It still works at night without leaking. My dme says I am eligible for a new one, so I said ok send it. I will put it away for backup in case it gets worse. I have one in my backup machine but I figured better to keep an extra for Murphy.

When my reservoir leaked, I was very glad the machine was on top of thick glass and a tray. Both machine and my furniture were untouched.
