Well I guess I am the only one on this website that isn't perfect in every way except for having sleep apnea.

A bit scared to mention I am overweight as well.

CPAP can possibly reduce some of the awakenings due to treating the sleep disordered breathing. CPAP + Beer is better than Beer and no CPAP. But drinking 64 oz + of anything is going to make you wake up all night to piss and 64+ oz of beer plus sleep means you must be waking up wicked dehydrated. Your body is supposed to recover while sleeping, but your body is working all night because of the beer.

I'm not here to tell you to stop drinking beer at night. We don't sugarcoat much here so you are going to get straight forward responses. If you don't like someone you can always mute them by adding them as a foe in your user control panel.

No, there’s nobody here who is perfect, but you asked for people’s thoughts on the matter. No judgement intended by me, but it’s simply a fact that drinking that much is not doing your apnea any favors. Anyone who tells you otherwise is also not doing you any favors.

Welcome.

I have lost 40 lbs and counting since starting on bipap. I was tired all the time and constantly drinking soda to stay awake.

And now let's test the waters with a little passive aggressiveness.

Why did you ask for opinions when you respond poorly to opinions you don't like?

As per my knowledge drinking alcohol and smoking is not good for sleep apnea patients. I always avoid drinking alcohol, bear also.
I also avoid drinking bears. Although I have been called a mama bear a time or six
They really don't go down smoothly, do they?

on this board, we try to deal in facts when we can. and i think the facts are in on drinking alcohol and trying to sleep.

but some people come here to have their misconceptions enforced. it hasn't happened yet and i hope to hell it doesn't start happening now.
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

probably the easiest way to "foe" someone is to click on their user name in the avatar to the left and follow the instructions.

to anyone doing this, be advised. if i "foe" raisedfist, i have the ability to not read his initial post. HOWEVER, if someone quotes raisedfist in their response, i'll see it.

just so everyone knows.

I drink between 4 and 12 beers per night. 12 oz per beer.
That (obviously) is between 48 and 144 ounces.

A *gallon* is 128 ounces.

My only comment was that you'll likely be up multiple times peeing, even if your apnea (which tends to cause nighttime peeing) is controlled.

I couldn't care less how much you drink.
