I've been running Sleepyhead and Oscar on iMac 10.13.6. Oscar transition going fine until the last two nights and it won't take my data but Sleepyhead does. I have no idea why as I'm not doing anything different. Any ideas?
What do you mean by "it won't take my data"? It doesn't find the SD card? It says the data is up to date? Imports but no new data on the Daily page?
Good question! It finds the SD card, I tell it to import, but there is no new data on the Daily page. Just like I always have done with Sleepyhead and with Oscar until the last two days.
Try purging the missing day's data:
  • {Menu} Data / Advanced / Purge Current Selected Day
Then re-import.

Another consideration is to rebuild the database:
  • {Menu} Data / Rebuild CPAP Data
I'm reluctant to suggest that one because, I attempted that once on Sleepyhead and it corrupted everything for that profile.

bonjour:
I switched from SH TO Oscar a few weeks ago. I usually have an afternoon snooze and am up at least once during the night so I have two or three sessions a day. I sometimes want to look at each session individually and found SH to be excellent but Oscar is confusing. It would be very helpful if you switched to the SH approach. Cant seem to get the Oscar system working properly. Otherwise, I find that Oscar is working well.

The latest sleepyhead and Oscar both work the same way, the simplest method is to only import your data at the end of your sleep, don’t import data following a nap wait until you get up for the final time in the morning, then look at your data for the previous day. Then you won’t have to mess with purging data etc...

With Oscar sometimes I get a few hours of no readings as if machine was off. When I switch to Sleepy Head I get readings for the whole night. both the same AHI, .60 Last night. I'm not sure I trust Oscar. Last night I know it was on except for two short bathroom breaks. Any ideas? I know Sleepy head won't last but I like it.

We've had several similar reports of not all sessions being imported. The problem is on our list of issues to resolve.

Hi, sorry if this is an issue that has been brought up before and has been resolved (I did not know how to search this thread), but has anyone had an issue with OSCAR closing abruptly when you select your profile? I am new to OSCAR and I did not use SleepyHead before, but I am not sure what I am doing incorrectly. I click "select profile" and after a few seconds OSCAR closes. Has anyone dealt with this issue before and if so, how did you fix it? Would appreciate any tips or suggestions!

Can you tell us EXACTLY what you see as the model name (all the words) on your AirSense 10 machine?

Try going here and running the reg file. This will set the graphics engine to a different version

Hi, thanks for the suggestion! I can't believe it was that simple. I updated my video card driver and it ran alright.

Feel free to 100% ignore this if it’s not a priority, but I’d love to see the UI modernized a bit. I’m not a designer (but rather a designer-conscious developer). I can offer some specific suggestions if wanted, but at the top of my head I can mention that the color palette and icons could need a refresh (Material Design has modern variants of both). Curves such as the flow rate could benefit from anti-aliased rendering. Labels such as “Event Flags” and “Flow Rate” look blurry on my machine (macOS).

I realize that there are more important things in life than things looking pretty, and you do a great job, so please just ignore this if it’s just noise to you. :)

For problems with labels, try going to File/Preferences/Appearance and select a different font for Graphs Text and Graph Titles.

I haven't seen any problem with the curves on Windows. If you could attach a screen shot that showed where anti-aliased rendering would be helpful, I would appreciate that.

Here’s how things look by default on macOS Mojave: https://i.imgur.com/FyYgtji.png

The pressure graph looks a bit jagged to me, but that might be because the pressure is incremented and decremented in 0.2 steps. Still, I would think that making the graphs anti-aliased would make them look better. Here is an example of some graph data rendered with anti-aliasing: https://www.d3-graph-gallery.com/graph/ ... tiple.html

Edit: You might need a high resolution display in order to see the difference.

The fuzzy font looks like a font choice problem. Also, if set to Bold, try turning that off to see if it looks better. Not all fonts have a good Bold version. This appears to be a Mac issue as I do not see this happening on Windows. For example, I set Graphs Title to be the default system font (MS Shell Dlg 2), 14 point, bold and the results are very crisp (actually much more crisp in OSCAR itself than in this screen capture):

Regarding the shape of the lines, what we display is what the CPAP machine reports.

I agree that it looks better on Windows. But I do think it would be appropriate if it looked non-blurry by default on macOS. Although I prefer Windows over macOS, I would say that when it comes to typography macOS is more than capable of that with any of the preinstalled fonts.

Yes, I’m not arguing about the data of the graphs, but rather how they are rendered. Anti-aliased rendering would make them a bit smoother. Not sure if I’m able to convey it clearly, but it means that nuances of the graph line color is used in order to make it look smoother.

Edit: I tried to turn off bold, but it still looks a bit blurry. Same font as the rest of the UI, which is not blurry.
